Professional Experience:
I have 8 years’ experience of working in corporate, development and volunteer sector. I started my career as a Business Development Executive in a Delhi based logistic company, while preparing for MBA entrances. During my MBA, I did my internship with the Standard Chartered Bank in the corporate banking division. The internship in the corporate banking enabled me to learn the nuances of financial concepts which I used in my specialization in Finance. I had a campus placement with the US based research organization called Corporate Executive Board (CEB), where I worked for a year as an analyst in the Financial Service practice. My stint as an analyst sharpened my abilities to explore, analyse, and organize any matter of research. Working on variety of business challenges helped me in adding dimensions to my thought process and the ability to think through the plethora of information to identify key action items. After CEB, I joined the technology major IBM as a Consultant in the Strategy & Transformation practice and worked for over 4 years in India and the US on multiple assignments and for clients such as Citibank. The employment with IBM gave me the much needed international exposure and the opportunity to lead teams, build capacity, develop and maintain client engagements. The corporate culture and adherence to deadlines taught me the trait to take complete ownership of my work and manage pressure. After a successful career with IBM, the desire to work for a real cause and contribute to the society drove me to quit my job and volunteer with an NGO as an advisor for close to year. I associated myself with Delhi based Urivi Vikram Charitable Trust as the Director – Corporate Strategy and Business Development. I assessed the model of the working of the NGO and initiated many new practices, streamlined the processes to improve the efficiency and productivity, hived off the skill building work of the NGO, reorganized the team, and built partnerships. Finally, I joined the social enterprise group called BASIX as a senior manager for strategic partnership & alliances. I head the business development work of the organization spread across 10 states. My profile is to source project funding, build partnerships with government and industry, and develop a service partnership network. In a span of 12 months, I have managed projects worth over 20 crores and brought down the cost of managing operations by 40% by building strategic partnerships. I’m one of the core members of the leadership team that form the executive committee of the organization.
