Professional Experience:

Responsible for leading the BBC’s FM operations in India. Develop content, liase with the BBC’s FM partner stations and lead and manage the BBC’s national programming team of producers, presenters and reporters. Initiate innovative and creative content that can generate business for BBC on its various partner radio stations. Involved in Business Development for BBC on FM through creating new partnerships and expanding content on BBC’s FM partner stations. Liase with the BBC’s network of radio partners in India, Dubai and the United States. Liase with the Marketing team for holding on-ground programming initiatives. Ideate and execute media campaigns across all BBC platforms – radio, online and television – with the overall purpose of strengthening BBC’s brand and presence on FM in India.

Editorial in-charge of the features and entertainment section of the BBC Hindi website. Develop content for the BBC's digital platforms and social media.

Masters in Visual and Communication Arts (specialization in Documentary Video) from Emerson College, Boston, U.S.A, 2003

B.A in English Literature from Lady Shri Ram College, 1993

Affiliations and Achievements:

• Awarded the British Chevening Scholarship by the British High Commission to attend a three-month course in broadcast journalism at Cardiff, Britain, in 1998. Received practical training in reportage skills, camera, lighting, and editing. Worked as an intern in West Country television, a leading British television production house.

• Selected to attend a two-week course sponsored by UNICEF (in1998) that trained Indian journalists to report with sensitivity on issues concerning women and children. The course was conducted by Ted Gorton of the U.K.-based Thomson Foundation, who was previously a senior editorial manager at the BBC.

• WGBH Boston: Interned at FRONTLINE, a public affairs documentary series on PBS, in summer 2002; assisted in the research and production of website content. Assisted in the development of a proposal for a six-hour documentary on the history of AIDS. Researched and wrote a chronicle of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in India.
