Education:
I hold a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in Community Medicine, which has provided me with a strong foundation in public health, epidemiology, disease prevention, health education, and health systems management. My postgraduate training focused on understanding the social and environmental determinants of health, implementation of national health programs, and conducting community-based research. I also gained extensive field experience through rural and urban health postings, outbreak investigations, immunization drives, and intersectoral coordination activities. My thesis on the clinico-epidemiological determinants of dengue enhanced my skills in data collection, analysis, and evidence-based interpretation for disease control and policy planning.
To complement this with healthcare leadership skills, I pursued an MBA in Healthcare Administration. This training enabled me to develop core competencies in hospital operations, quality management (including NABH standards), strategic planning, human resources, health finance, and regulatory compliance. I completed my administrative internship at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, where I gained practical exposure to infection control practices, hospital audits, biomedical waste management, medical records review, and hospital information systems. This experience bridged the gap between clinical insight and administrative execution.
My educational background brings together a unique blend of clinical public health knowledge and management expertise. It has equipped me to work in diverse healthcare settings—be it tertiary hospitals, public health departments, or development sector organizations. I am well-versed in designing, implementing, and evaluating health programs, and I am particularly passionate about improving service delivery through data-driven, patient-centric approaches.
Throughout my academic journey, I have actively contributed to seminars, public health campaigns, outbreak responses, and national health days. I have presented posters and papers at conferences, contributed to interdisciplinary discussions on policy and governance, and collaborated with medical, nursing, and administrative teams for integrated care delivery.
Together, my M.D. and MBA reflect my commitment to improving population health outcomes through efficient, ethical, and innovative healthcare practices. I aspire to use this dual training to support health systems strengthening, health equity, and strategic healthcare operations in roles that merge community medicine with leadership and program implementation.
