Professional Experience:
My professional journey encompasses roles in public health research, data collection, and healthcare quality assurance, all aimed at improving health outcomes and operational standards. I began as an intern at AIIMS Jodhpur, where I supported research initiatives in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). My role focused on data collection for three multicentric studies: one investigating the impact of COVID-19 vaccines on thrombotic events, another identifying factors associated with sudden deaths in adults, and a third contributing to the National Clinical Registry of COVID-19. I conducted verbal autopsies with the relatives of deceased patients, accessed patient data using AIIMS’s Hospital Management Information System (HMIS), and developed strong organizational and data management skills through these hands-on research tasks.
I further built my public health skills as a Monitoring and Evaluation Volunteer with the World Health Organization’s Routine Immunization Program in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. In this role, I conducted field visits to assess immunization program effectiveness, contributed to recommendations for improving immunization coverage, and developed practical project management experience.
As part of my MPH program, I undertook a six-month dissertation with Piramal Swasthya focusing on Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (MNCAH) service delivery in Bihar. This qualitative research study involved in-depth interviews, participant observation, and data analysis to explore barriers and propose improvements to MNCAH services in underserved areas. Through this work, I collaborated with healthcare providers, patients, and policy makers, gaining a nuanced understanding of the socio-cultural and systemic factors affecting healthcare delivery. The project allowed me to build competency in qualitative research methods and generate recommendations aimed at enhancing healthcare access and quality.
Currently, I am a Project Coordinator at Deepak Foundation’s Pathology Lab and Diagnostic Center in Dahej, where my focus is on quality assurance, compliance, and business development. My role includes overseeing daily quality control checks for diagnostic machines, ensuring compliance with NABL accreditation standards, and preparing for annual NABL renewals through audits and documentation. I also work on expanding the center’s outreach by building partnerships with companies for occupational health services and pre-employment check-ups, as well as negotiating contracts to maintain financial sustainability.
Through these varied roles, I have developed a strong foundation in data management, research support, and quality assurance, which equip me to contribute effectively to public health and healthcare service initiatives.
