Professional Assistance for Development Action (PRADAN)
Project Executive | November 2011 - June 2024

As a Project Executive at PRADAN, I have dedicated over a decade to managing and leading multiple teams, driving significant projects, and fostering sustainable community development. My role encompassed a diverse range of responsibilities and achievements, including the following:

Managed and Led Teams:
I directed multiple teams under projects such as Integrated Participatory Planning Exercise (IPPE), IPPE-2, Cluster Facilitation Team (CFT), and USHARMUKTI. Collaborating closely with Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) teams at both block and district levels, I ensured seamless coordination, effective budget management, and strong stakeholder linkages. This collaborative approach was crucial in aligning our efforts with broader government initiatives and maximizing our impact.

Watershed Planning and Fund Mobilization:
My efforts in developing over 60 watershed plans and preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) successfully mobilized more than 900 Crores in government funds. These initiatives led to the creation of essential water bodies, permanent vegetation, and other natural resource management (NRM) structures. By significantly enhancing the management and utilization of local resources, we improved water availability and soil conservation, which are vital for sustainable agriculture and community resilience.

Capacity Building:
A significant part of my role involved capacity building, where I groomed over 72 supervisors/mates under the MGNREGS framework and trained more than 50 Community Animal Health Workers (CAHWs). I initiated livestock activities, ensuring vaccination programs reached over 2,500 poor households. These programs led to improved livestock health and productivity, boosting the incomes of participating households and contributing to better living standards.

Community Development:
I trained and developed over 300 community cadres in agriculture, livestock, and institution building. By conducting extensive training and capacity-building programs, I enhanced community resilience, self-sufficiency, and engagement in agricultural and livestock activities. These efforts empowered communities to take charge of their development and improved their socio-economic conditions.

Collaborative Planning:
Partnerships with professionals and other NGOs were integral to implementing large-scale projects like USHARMUKTI and comprehensive village planning under the Revitalizing Rain-fed Agriculture (RRA) project. These collaborative efforts significantly improved village-level planning and execution, earning recognition with the 7th CSR Impact Award in the Environment category in 2021.

Project Implementation:
I led the successful implementation of various NRM structures under the USHARMUKTI initiative. This involved meticulous planning and coordination, resulting in significant environmental impact. Our work in environmental conservation was recognized for its excellence and contribution to sustainable development.

Throughout my tenure at PRADAN, my focus has been on driving sustainable development and fostering community engagement. My experience in team management, watershed planning, capacity building, community development, collaborative planning, and project implementation has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to lead impactful development projects. I am committed to continuing this work, leveraging my expertise to create and implement programs that promote equity, inclusion, and long-term positive change for vulnerable populations.

MATLAB Program on Fingerprint Recognition (B.Tech Studies)
Project Description:
During my B.Tech studies, I developed a MATLAB program focused on fingerprint recognition. The program was designed to analyze and compare fingerprint images, providing a percentage match between the input fingerprint and the stored database. This project was pivotal in enhancing my understanding of biometric systems and their applications in security and authentication.

Learning Outcomes:

Image Processing: Through this project, I gained a solid understanding of image processing techniques, including filtering, edge detection, and feature extraction. These skills are crucial for various applications in computer vision and biometric systems.

Programming in MATLAB: The project significantly enhanced my programming skills in MATLAB, a high-level language and interactive environment used for numerical computation, visualization, and programming. I learned to write efficient code, handle large datasets, and utilize MATLAB’s powerful built-in functions for image processing tasks.

Biometric Systems: I acquired substantial knowledge about biometric systems and their applications in security and authentication. Understanding the principles of fingerprint recognition broadened my perspective on the potential uses of biometric technologies.

Key Achievements:

Successfully implemented an algorithm for fingerprint matching.
Achieved accurate results with a high percentage of match, demonstrating the program's effectiveness.
Developed a deeper appreciation for the challenges and intricacies involved in biometric recognition systems.
Enhanced ability to handle and process large image datasets effectively.
Improved problem-solving skills through troubleshooting and optimizing the algorithm for better performance.
Model Village Irrigation System (School Project)
Project Description:
During my school days, I designed and built a working model of a village irrigation system powered entirely by renewable energy sources. The model demonstrated how sustainable energy could be harnessed to provide water for agricultural purposes, addressing the needs of rural communities. This project instilled in me a strong interest in sustainable development and renewable energy technologies.

Learning Outcomes:

Renewable Energy: This project provided me with a fundamental understanding of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power. I learned how these energy sources can be harnessed and converted into usable forms of energy for practical applications.

Sustainable Practices: I developed an awareness of the importance of sustainability in rural development. The project highlighted how renewable energy can contribute to sustainable agriculture and improve the quality of life in rural areas.

Model Building and Design: The hands-on experience of building the model enhanced my skills in designing and constructing functional prototypes. I learned to think creatively and solve engineering challenges using limited resources.

Key Achievements:
•Successfully demonstrated a functional irrigation system powered by renewable energy.
•Showcased the potential of sustainable technologies in addressing real-world problems.
•Received positive feedback for the innovative approach and practical application of renewable energy in agriculture.
•Awarded first place in the school science fair for innovation in sustainable technology.
•Developed a scalable model that could be adapted for real-world applications in rural areas.
•Improved teamwork and project management skills by collaborating with peers on the project.
