Dr. Telang’s internships during his MPH-HA program provided him with valuable hands-on experience across different public health domains, ranging from research and healthcare administration to digital transformation in rural health systems. His exposure to diverse challenges in healthcare settings enhanced his practical understanding of public health.
At Seva Mandir, Udaipur(September 2024 – Present), Dr. Telang focused on the digitalization of Anganwadi workers in the Kotra block. Anganwadi centers, crucial for early childhood development, are adopting digital tools to improve service delivery. Dr. Telang’s internship assessed how this digital transformation impacted the workers’ workflows. His evaluation highlighted key outcomes and areas where digital tools could optimize the performance of Anganwadi workers, ultimately improving maternal and child health outcomes in rural settings.
In Goa Institute of Management (May 2024 – June 2024), during a Summer Research Internship Program (SRIP), Dr. Telang explored the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. He produced two research papers: Journey of AI in Healthcare: An Analysis and Role of AI in Family Medicine and Primary Care. His work delved into the growing significance of AI technologies in enhancing healthcare delivery, particularly in primary care. His research emphasized AI’s potential to streamline healthcare processes, improve diagnostic accuracy, and ultimately enhance patient outcomes in both rural and urban healthcare systems.
During his time with National Health Mission (NHM), Maharashtra (February 2024 – April 2024), Dr. Telang led a project to evaluate the effectiveness of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities in Shivna Village. This role involved organizing public health campaigns and assessing their impact on health literacy and community engagement. He also demonstrated his leadership abilities by managing 15 booths during the Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign in March 2024, contributing to the ongoing efforts to eradicate polio in the region.
