Professional Experience:

With over 15 years of experience in development management, I am a results-driven professional specialising in strategic communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement. My career has been defined by leading large-scale social impact programs, particularly in health, skill development, and women & social empowerment for underserved and marginalised communities with a strong focus on behaviour change communication (BCC) and community mobilisation.
As a Freelance Consultant since November 2022, I have provided strategic guidance and support to various NGOs and companies, including Jubilant Foodworks Limited, SANMAT, Seven Even Consultancy, and Fresh Foundation. My consultancy work has involved crafting high-quality proposals and concept notes aligned with CSR and donor priorities. A notable project included championing a rights-based approach at a Halfway Home program for mentally ill men, creating an inclusive environment that respected the dignity of all residents. I have also managed skill development programs under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) frameworks, developed content-specific training modules, and conducted trainer’s training sessions, ensuring effective project execution and comprehensive stakeholder engagement. These roles allowed me to blend hands-on program execution with strategic oversight, enabling seamless project delivery and impactful outcomes.
Prior to my consultancy role, I served as the State Project Manager for Communication at Bihar Mahadalit Vikas Mission (BMVM) from January 2010 to October 2022. In this position, I excelled in strategic communication planning and execution, developing comprehensive communication plans and IEC activities. My role involved designing and implementing multimedia campaigns, including short films and documentaries that addressed social issues and showcased the impact of BMVM’s initiatives. I led the Poshan Abhiyan efforts, collaborating with ICDS and Health departments to enhance nutrition awareness and utilisation of health schemes. A key achievement was spearheading the creation and management of over 35,000 adolescent groups across Bihar, focusing on health education and community engagement.
In my earlier role as District Project Manager with the Women Development Corporation (WDC) from March 2009 to January 2010, I facilitated the formation and networking of Self Help Groups (SHGs) and led capacity-building initiatives for women. I collaborated with project staff to develop district-level action plans, supported SHG formation, and ensured financial inclusion by linking SHGs with financial institutions. My responsibilities also included supervising block-level Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and NGOs, and monitoring project progress through regular field visits.
My experience with UNICEF as a Social Mobilisation Coordinator in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar (2005-2008) was pivotal in shaping my expertise in BCC and community engagement. I led social mobilisation interventions aimed at increasing vaccine acceptance and managed a team of approximately 150 coordinators. My role involved preparing micro plans for immunisation activities, training frontline workers, and integrating health components into social mobilisation plans. I successfully bridged knowledge gaps by designing and executing BCC strategies, working closely with ICDS and Health Departments to engage communities and improve health outcomes.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to enhancing lives through innovative and sustainable program delivery. My experience encompasses strategic planning, project management, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision-making. I am fluent in Hindi and English and am dedicated to leveraging my skills and expertise to drive impactful social change.

Education:

My educational journey has significantly shaped my contributions to the development sector, particularly in my work with UNICEF, government projects, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The foundation I built through my studies has provided me with the skills and insights necessary to address complex challenges in areas such as child rights, community development, and behavior change communication.
I completed my Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing Management from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, Bihar, between 1995 and 1998. This degree equipped me with strategic thinking, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills—essential tools for my work in the development sector. The focus on marketing management, especially understanding target audiences and crafting communication strategies, has been instrumental in my work with UNICEF, where I have helped design and implement campaigns that effectively communicate key messages around child rights, education, and health. The leadership and decision-making skills I gained have also been valuable in working with government stakeholders, ensuring that programs are aligned with policy goals and community needs.
Before that, I completed my Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Statistics from Patna University, Patna, from 1990 to 1994. My background in statistics has been crucial for my roles in monitoring and evaluation, particularly in large-scale projects in partnership with government bodies and CSR initiatives. I have been able to use data-driven approaches to assess the impact of programs, whether it’s in tracking progress in child welfare initiatives under UNICEF or evaluating the effectiveness of CSR projects aimed at empowering marginalized communities. My ability to analyze data has been key in ensuring that interventions are evidence-based and can be scaled effectively.
I also completed my Intermediate of Science at BIEC, Patna, in 1989. The logical and analytical mindset developed through my science education has enhanced my ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects in the government and corporate sectors. This has been particularly useful when dealing with large-scale initiatives like government-funded social welfare programs or CSR activities, where problem-solving and critical thinking are necessary to navigate challenges and ensure successful outcomes. Additionally, my early education, including Matriculation from BSEB, Patna, in 1987, laid a strong foundation in discipline and learning, helping me develop the resilience needed for long-term, impactful projects.
Throughout my career, this academic background has allowed me to contribute meaningfully to initiatives aimed at social change. Whether I am leading communication campaigns, working on capacity-building projects with government officials, or collaborating with corporates on CSR programs, my education has been a vital asset in designing solutions that are both strategic and impactful. This combination of business acumen, statistical analysis, and scientific reasoning has enabled me to drive results in the development sector, particularly in advocating for child protection, women's empowerment, and community welfare.
