Professional Experience:

My professional experience as a Research Assistant at the United Service Institution of India-Centre for Military History and Conflict Studies (USI-CMHCS) included undertaking research on Pre-Independence and Post-Independence wars of the Indian Armed Forces, organising commemorative events and activities, including international conferences and seminars. I carried out liaison for the Centre with all its working partners and presented project plans to existing and potential stakeholders, which included national and international governmental agencies. I led a lot of the projects that the Centre was assigned to carry out and also assisted them in managing project resources and databases. In addition, I conducted an annual skills development course that aimed to provide Service officers in India, a unique opportunity to understand the dynamics of running a military museum. I also contributed to the day-to-day activities of the Centre, like managing social media platforms, overseeing research projects, engaging with scholars and assisting with book publications.

Education:

Recently graduated with an MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development from School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London on the fully funded Chevening scholarship programme awarded by the UK government. Co-presided and managed the events of the SOAS Rural Development Society to promote sustainable and inclusive development, and to create a platform for students, academics, and enthusiasts to discuss and contribute to the challenges faced by rural areas. Also, worked actively on creating a fundraising campaign for an orphanage in Homa Bay, Kenya that was facing a critical need for a borehole during my co-presidency.

Affiliations and Achievements:

1) Awarded the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee’ (CISC) Commendation for exemplary contribution in preserving the history and heritage of the Indian Armed Forces.

2) Recipient of The Duke of Edinburgh Gold Standard Award – The International Award for Young People, 2016. Prior to this received the Bronze and Silver Awards in 2013 and 2015.
