Education:
Completed my Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from Christian Medical College, Vellore in 1982. Finished my postgraduation in community Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1991 and MD in Obstetrics and gynecology in 1995 at Kasturba Medical College.
I have done a short course in ADRA on needs assessment to implementation in 1984. Another short training in microfinancing from ILO 2006, India.
Post-doctoral training in Public Health (MPH, UWS Sydney, 2008) has helped me to enhance my public health skills in epidemiology, research methodology, statistical reasoning, project planning and M & E. I also gained experience as an observer in an area of need in Australia (Mt.Isa, Queensland).
I have also completed online courses of Global Health Learning Center (Joint initiative by USAID and John Hopkins School of Public health) in the following subjects as a part of my continuing education in reproductive health(18 courses): Antenatal care, Essential Newborn Care, Family Planning, Family Planning Programming, Postpartum Hemorrhage, Monitoring and Evaluation, Maternal Survival- Programming Issues, Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal care, Maternal- to-Child transmission of HIV, Postpartum Care, Youth and Reproductive Health, Malaria in Pregnancy, Childhood Immunization and also an open course of John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public health in Reproductive Epidemiology
