Professional Experience:
District Epidemiologist
1. Monitor timely collection and compilation of data from all reporting units in the district.
2. Analyse surveillance data and prepare weekly IDSP alert and forecast along with appropriate feedback.
3. Prepare and share relevant monthly summaries/feedback of the disease situation to the state surveillance unit, district administration and other relevant departments like animal husbandry, FSSAI etc
4. Identify outbreak and verify media alerts/EWSs of diseases targeted under Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme.
5. Facilitate outbreak investigation promptly as per the standard operating guidelines.
6. As a member of rapid response team, be a part of outbreak investigation as and when required.
7. Monitor timely submission of first information report (FIR) and final outbreak report to State Surveillance Unit/Central Surveillance Unit.
8. Organize independent evaluation studies of various national health programmes as and when required.
9. Assist Civil Surgeon in conducting regular meetings of surveillance committee and meeting for intersectoral coordination between various stakeholders aimed at effective implementation of national health programmes.
10. Supervise data manager(s), data entry operator(s) and other HR to ensure timely submission of quality information required in relation to reports, routine office tasks, and also supervise their performance.
11. Ensure 100% utilization of National Health Programmes budget as per PIP before 15th of march on yearly basis.
12. Ensure supervisory visits to peripheral health facilities like CHCs, PHCs, HSCs, and also Anganwadi centers, schools, colleges etc in the district.
13. Support civil surgeon in carrying out other work related to effective implementation of National Health Programmes.
14. Participate in various meetings/VCs with state headquarter, district administrations, and other government departments.
15. Any other work assigned by civil surgeon as and when required.
Nodal Officer-PNDT/MTP
PC&PNDT:
1. Primarily focuses on preventing sex selection and regulating diagnostic technologies in the district.
2. Registration and Licensing: Processing and managing the mandatory registration of all ultrasound clinics, genetic laboratories, and counselling centres.
3. Surprise Inspections: Conducting regular and random inspections of registered facilities to verify records and ensure machines are not being misused for sex determination.
4. Monitoring E-Advertisements: Collaborating with national/state agencies to identify and remove online advertisements that promote sex selection.
5. Enforcement and Decoy Operations: Organizing decoy operations to catch violators of the Act and assisting in the seizure of illegal equipment.
6. Data Management: Maintaining a comprehensive database of ultrasound machines and their buyers to track their distribution and usage.
7. Legal Liaison: Coordinating with Public Prosecutors and legal experts to initiate and track court cases against violators of the Act.
Medical Termination of Pregnancies (MTP):
1. To ensures that abortion services are safe, legal, and accessible.
2. Facility Approval: Undertaking site visits to private clinics applying for MTP registration to ensure they meet safe and hygienic standards, including necessary surgical and resuscitation equipment.
3. Monitoring Safety Standards: Inspecting approved places to verify that terminations are performed under safe conditions and that no maternal injuries or deaths have occurred due to negligence.
4. Record Maintenance: Ensuring all approved facilities maintain proper admission registers and report data timely to the State level and the Health Management Information System (HMIS).
5. Secretarial Support to DLC: Serving as a representative for the District Level Committee (DLC), maintaining records of all applications, approvals, and rejections.
