Professional Experience:

As a trained development professional with over nine years of experience in the environment sector, I have dedicated my career to bridging policy and practice through impactful projects in sustainability, climate change, and urban planning. My journey began in 2015 as a Site Manager at Antarabhava Trails in Kullu, where I mapped and assessed ecological threats from tourism-led solid waste, igniting my passion for environmental management.

From 2016 to 2018, I worked as a Research Associate at the Center for Ecology Development & Research (CEDAR) in Dehradun, focusing on water management in Himalayan towns. I led research on natural springs and community adaptation to climate challenges, notably contributing to the HI-AWARE project in the Upper Ganga basin and co-authoring a publication in Water Policy (2020).

Between 2017 and 2019, I took on freelance consultancies, including a role with UNDP India, where I assessed vulnerable water sources in Kalsi, Dehradun, and with Karvy Insights, evaluating urban local bodies’ performance in the Swachh Bharat Mission. These experiences honed my skills in research, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

From 2019 to 2023, as Vertical Leader for Environment & Healthcare at United Way, Delhi, I managed CSR-funded projects in air quality and public health. I spearheaded initiatives like United For Air, installing low-cost sensors and LED screens in Gurugram for real-time air quality monitoring, and Tidy Trails, streamlining plastic waste management in Mathura. My leadership in these projects strengthened my expertise in project design and donor management.

In 2023, I joined the World Resources Institute, India, as a Senior Program Associate, working under the National Clean Air Programme in Gorakhpur. I developed a Solid Waste Management Action Plan, conducted real-time waste burning studies, and organized a national consultation, reinforcing my ability to implement large-scale environmental solutions. Concurrently, I consulted for the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (2024-2025), assisting Delhi’s Environment PMU in policy design and satellite-based air pollution studies.

Since January 2025, I have led business development at Airveda Technologies Pvt. Ltd., curating strategic partnerships with government agencies, academia, and CSR organizations. My thematic expertise in climate change, urban planning, and social entrepreneurship, combined with skills in project management, fundraising, and stakeholder collaboration, has enabled me to work effectively with state governments, urban local bodies, and philanthropic partners. Certifications like the Sustainable Development Planner (CSDP, 2015, renewed 2023), Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP, 2013), and PMP (2019, valid until 2029) have further strengthened my capabilities.

My professional journey reflects a commitment to sustainable development, with a focus on air pollution mitigation, water management, and community-driven solutions. By fostering partnerships and leveraging data-driven strategies, I continue to drive impactful change in India’s environmental landscape.

Education:

I hold a comprehensive academic background in sustainable development and urban planning, equipping me with the expertise to tackle complex environmental and societal challenges. I earned my Master of Arts in Sustainable Development Practices from TERI School of Advanced Studies, Delhi, India, in 2015. My dissertation focused on developing a REDD+ intervention to reduce deforestation and forest degradation in Shimoga Forest Circle, Karnataka, India, sharpening my skills in climate-adaptive strategies and community-driven conservation.

Before this, I completed my Bachelor of Planning at the School of Planning & Architecture, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India, in 2013. My undergraduate dissertation explored the potential of hemp-based livelihoods and cottage industries to drive economic development in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, India, reflecting my early commitment to blending sustainability with economic growth in ecologically sensitive areas.

To complement my formal education, I pursued several professional certifications. In 2015, I obtained the Sustainable Development Planner Certification (CSDP) from the World Institute of Sustainable Development Planners (WISDP), Hong Kong, which I renewed in 2023, enhancing my expertise in sustainable urban planning. In 2013, I earned the Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) certification from Autodesk, California, USA, mastering spatial analysis and data-driven decision-making. In 2019, I completed a course in Air Quality Data Analytics and Pollution Source Assessment at the Anil Agarwal Environment Training Institute, Centre for Science & Environment (CSE), Delhi, India, strengthening my capabilities in air pollution mitigation. Additionally, I hold a PMP Certification from the Project Management Institute (2019, valid until 2029), which underscores my ability to manage complex projects effectively.

My academic journey and certifications reflect my dedication to addressing environmental challenges through interdisciplinary approaches. My education in sustainable development and urban planning, combined with specialized training in GIS, air quality analytics, and project management, has empowered me to design and implement impactful projects in climate change adaptation, water management, and air pollution mitigation.
