• Civil registration: State authority for the Civil Registration System; supported framing of the State Rules and instituted ICD-10 cause-of-death reporting for institutional deaths.
• Programme oversight: Directorate oversight of NTEP, NP-NCD, PC-PNDT, IDSP, NVHCP, HMIS, NQAS and the State Institute of Health and Family Welfare.
• Regulatory authority: District Appropriate Authority functions under the PC-PNDT Act; enforcement authority under the MTP Act and the Clinical Establishments framework.
