Kotak Education Foundation’s (KEF) mission is to support children and youth from underprivileged families through different education based interventions to rise above the poverty line and lead a life of dignity through sustainable processes. KEF works with some of India’s most economically underprivileged communities, attempting to alleviate poverty through education and livelihood programs.
 
KEF works with multiple regional language government-aided private institutions. These schools have been set up by social entrepreneurs and lack quality teaching, infrastructure and leadership. Through its various programs across education, innovative healthcare and livelihood training programs, the foundation supplements the efforts of these schools to improve their conditions.
 
KEF works on School Education, Livelihoods & Scholarship programs in India, below are the highlights:
 
SCHOOL EDUCATION
State Education transformation in progress in 2 States (Maharashtra and Gujarat, piloting projects in other states) impacting learning outcomes of 1 million students for progressive improvement in grade appropriateness
 
SCHOLARSHIPS
15,000 Scholarships awarded for higher education with 2,500 graduating and gainfully employed, yielding a 2.5X ROI in a year
 
VOCATIONAL EDUCATION
60,000 youth (dropouts/graduates) and 30,000 school students trained on futuristic employable skills yielding an 8X ROI in a year
 
Position Summary:
KEF is looking for Manager- Data Analytics and Reporting who will be part of MERAC. This role provides opportunity to lead and contribute to the Mission of organization through data systems enhancement and use of data for decision making. The role holder is expected to make data everyone’s business in KEF. S/he is expected to set up advance analytical systems for projects. Data based reporting on periodic basis is central to this role. The role holder will assign a significant proportion of time in building data analytical capacity among project team members. S/he will be responsible for critical data support for organizational expansion strategy.
 
 Role & Responsibilities:
 
  • Extract project data from multiple sources using automation tools n techniques
  • Build system to translate raw data into valuable insights
  • Understand and grasp the project needs, objectives and key operational consideration of all KEF projects
  • Automate the project performance score card
  • Offer support role to projects to leverage data to make the operational/ management decisions
  • Map and identify opportunities with project team to have data driven systems and processes (end to end execution)
  • Drive data quality throughout the projects
  • Perform data analysis to discover patterns, draw conclusions and produce periodic reports for projects and management to help decisions
  • Develop and test data modelling for specific project problems
  • Co –ordinate with IT team for technical and technology related efficiencies for projects
  • Review current processes, develop new processes or procedures based on project specific data analytics
  • Address demand and organize capacity building sessions for project staff on utilization of effective data analytics
  • Develop data analysis process flow diagram and reporting flow charts for tracking and follow ups
  • Perform project cost analysis and link with project operational activities. Support PH in making feasible recommendations through financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Explain complex data into simple terms for project staff and other non-technical stakeholders
  • Regular tracking of project KPIs
 
Candidate Specifications:
 
 
Educational Qualification
Masters in Computer science/ Engineering, Data management, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Demography, Population and development studies
Years of Experience
7 – 10 years’ of working experience in the field of education database preferably with urban school education systems/ Any large volume database used for ML based predictions
 
Work Skills
  • Equip with the predictive analytical techniques
  • Hands on with various statistical tools (SAS, SPSS and STATA)
  • Data base language skills like SQL, R and Python.
  • Google cloud data platforms
  • Problem identification and solving skills through database mining.
  • Time series based data analysis
  • Database visualization tools- Tableau, PowerBI or Google data studio

  • Strong computer and technology skills, with familiarity in using computer & web based applications
  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities
