A short summary about the Project
Position Summary:
In this context, ACCESS is inviting applications for experienced and dynamic agriculture input expert to support and manage Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) across Rajasthan in establishing and expanding their input businesses. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of agricultural input markets, strong business acumen, and the ability to build capacities of FPOs to effectively manage and scale their input supply chains. Additionally, the candidate should have experience and understanding of promoting climate-smart agriculture practices.
Responsibilities:
Program Management
1. Develop and implement a strategic plan to establish and scale the input businesses of FPOs.
2. Identify and evaluate market opportunities for various agricultural inputs (seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, etc.).
3. Incorporate climate-smart agriculture (CSA) practices into the business strategies, ensuring sustainable and resilient farming practices are promoted.
4. Regular review and supervision of all projects staff in the state and provide technical support to the project team
5. Conduct training programs and workshops for FPOs on input business management, procurement, inventory management, and sales strategies and provide ongoing mentoring and technical support to FPO management teams.
6. Establish and maintain relationships with input suppliers, wholesalers, and other market players to ensure a steady supply of quality inputs at competitive prices.
7. Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and other forums related to agricultural input marketing.
Education & Experience:
1. A degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Marketing, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred
2. At least 5-7 years of experience in agricultural input marketing, agribusiness development, or a related field. Experience working with FPOs or in rural markets is highly desirable. Experience in promoting climate-smart agriculture practices is a strong advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
1. Strong understanding of the agricultural input market and supply chain dynamics.
2. Knowledge of climate-smart agriculture practices and their application in rural settings.
3. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Proficiency in data analysis and business planning tools.
6. Willingness to travel extensively within Rajasthan.
Travel Requirement
Willingness to travel as required to implement the project efficiently.
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is commensurate to industry standards and will be determined based upon experience set of the candidate and the HR policies of the organization.
