WaterAid India invites sealed quotations from eligible agencies/ vendors/contractors for the restoration and retrofitting of WASH infrastructure in five schools located in Taluka Ambegaon, Pune District, under the Lubrizol-supported initiative. The scope includes construction, retrofitting, and commissioning of drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities.
JSCF is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring access to safe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene education for underserved communities. Headquartered in New Delhi, we operate through regional offices in Patna, Lucknow, Bhopal, Bangalore, Raipur, Bhubaneswar, and Hyderabad.

- Quotations must be submitted strictly in the RFQ format (Annexure I). If submitted on your organisation’s letterhead, the format must remain unchanged.
- The RFQ document, duly signed and stamped should be returned along with your quotation.

Introduction
Jal Seva Charitable Foundation (JSCF) is a not-for-profit organization registered in India under Chapter 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. It operates as an associate member of WaterAid International and uses the ‘WaterAid’ brand in India. WaterAid India is dedicated to improving access to clean water, proper sanitation and good hygiene across the country. Project Background
WaterAid India, with support from Lubrizol, is implementing a targeted WASH infrastructure restoration initiative in five schools located in Taluka Ambegaon, Pune District, Maharashtra. These schools—ZP School Kotamdara, ZP School Borghar, ZP School Gohe BK, Ashram School Gohe KH, and Ashram School Rajpur—serve a combined population of over 900 students and staff, many from tribal and underserved communities.
A rapid infrastructure assessment revealed critical gaps in drinking water access, sanitation facilities, and hygiene systems across all five sites. Common issues include:
- Absence or failure of water distribution systems
- Non-functional or inadequate toilet and urinal facilities
- Lack of gender-appropriate and inclusive sanitation provisions
- No dedicated handwashing stations or greywater management systems
- Single leach pit setups without safe liquid waste management (SLWM)
These deficiencies pose significant risks to student health, dignity, and school attendance—especially for girls and children with disabilities. The restoration initiative aims to address these gaps through:
- Construction and retrofitting of drinking water infrastructure (e.g., pipeline extension, tank repair, installation of water distribution system)
- Upgrading sanitation facilities with twin leach pits, gender-sensitive design, and SLWM integration
- Installation of dedicated handwashing stations with reliable water supply
- Provision of inclusive and sustainable waste management systems
Objective of the RFQ
The objective of this RFQ is to invite quotations from eligible vendors/contractors for the restoration, construction, and retrofitting of WASH infrastructure across five schools in Taluka Ambegaon, Pune District Maharashtra commissioning of;
- Drinking Water Infrastructure: Renovation of water tanks, installation of distribution systems, pipeline extensions, and provision of motors.
- Sanitation Facilities: Repair and retrofitting of toilets and urinals, construction of twin leach pits, and integration of greywater/solid-liquid waste management systems.
- Handwashing Stations: Construction of new handwashing facilities with reliable water supply and retrofitting of existing stations.
- Inclusivity & Sustainability: Ensuring facilities are age-appropriate, gender-sensitive, and accessible to children with disabilities
Scope of Work
Restoration work is to be carried out at the following schools:
- ZP School, Village Kotamdara
- ZP School, Village Borghar
- ZP School, Village Gohe BK
- Ashram School, Gohe KH
- Ashram School, Rajpur
The scope includes:
- Construction/retrofitting of drinking water infrastructure (pipeline extension, storage tanks, motor installation)
- Construction/retrofitting of age- and gender-appropriate toilets and urinals
- Construction/retrofitting of handwashing stations with water supply
Eligibility Criteria
- Registered contractor/agency with experience in WASH infrastructure development
- Prior experience in school-based or rural sanitation projects preferred
- GST registration and PAN mandatory
- Ability to complete work within stipulated timelines
