JOB PROFILE:
The State Coordinator – YCLC will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the effective implementation of the YCLC program within their assigned state. The role involves close coordination with Climate Fellows, otherProject Coordinators, school leadership, and government stakeholders to ensure smooth execution, quality delivery, and timely reporting. The State Coordinator will report to the Project Manager – YCLC.
Job Responsibilities:
A. Program Coordination & Implementation
• Support the implementation of young climate leadership implementation across assigned schools in the state - 25 schools per coordinator
• Ensure adherence to approved implementation plans, timelines, and activity schedules.
• Conduct regular school visits to monitor classroom sessions and activities.
• Conduct and lead sessions wherever needed to support the fellows
• Identify and resolve on-ground operational and coordination challenges.
B. Team Support & Field Coordination
• Coordinate with Climate Fellows delivering YCLC in schools.
• Support onboarding, orientation, and ongoing mentoring of fellows.
• Track fellow attendance, performance, and activity delivery.
• Facilitate communication between field teams and the central project team.
C. School & Government Engagement:
• Build and maintain relationships with school principals, teachers, and education officials.
• Coordinate permissions, school scheduling, and local-level approvals.
• Support district-level meetings, reviews, and advocacy activities related to climate education.
• Represent the organisation in state- and district-level meetings as required.
D. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation:
• Support baseline, ongoing monitoring, and end-line data collection.
• Maintain accurate records of school visits, sessions conducted, and activities completed.
• Contribute to monthly progress reports and state-level documentation.
• Share regular updates with the Project Manager on progress, risks, and support needs.

Desired qualifications/experience:
• Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Education, Environmental Studies, Social Work, Development Studies, or related fields.
• 2-3 years of experience in education, climate, or development sector programs.
• Experience working with government schools or public education systems.
• Prior experience in field coordination or multi-school programs is preferred.
• Prior experience in climate related roles will be an added advantage Compensation
• Rs.30,000 per month
