To enhance accountable practices in the voluntary sector, FMSF serves as a vital resource hub for NPOs. Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Communication Specialist. The role will focus on strengthening how FMSF’s work, values, and expertise are communicated to diverse audiences within the voluntary and development sector.
The Communication Specialist will contribute to ideation for communication and design, offering creative and practical inputs to improve clarity, consistency, and engagement across digital platforms, publications, and outreach materials. The position will collaborate with program teams, leadership, and designers to enhance FMSF’s existing identity as a credible knowledge and resource organisation for the voluntary sector.
Job Profile
1. Communication Strategy
- Develop and implement an overall communication and visibility strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and programs.
- Strengthen organization’s brand identity and ensure consistency in tone and visual presentation across all platforms.
- Positioning the organization as a credible knowledge hub for financial accountability, governance, and compliance in the voluntary sector.
- Support leadership in shaping key narratives around FMSF’s role, programs, and sectoral contributions.
2. Program Communication and Outreach
- Develop communication plans for the organization’s programs, workshops, trainings, and initiatives.
- Enhance visibility of program outcomes, learning, and impact through structured communication outputs.
- Support dissemination of knowledge products through multiple formats such as reports, briefs, digital content, and social media.
- Identify appropriate channels and formats for reaching different stakeholders in the voluntary sector.
3. Design Direction and Quality Control
- Review and guide design outputs for reports, concept notes, proposals, publications, and other learning materials to ensure clarity, quality, and strong visual appeal.
- Support and contribute in creating audio visual content including concept briefing, review, and finalization.
- Add value to existing content by improving structure, flow, storytelling, and presentation without altering technical accuracy.
- Support ideation and innovation in presenting information through visuals, layouts, and formats.
- Coordinate with vendors to guide how publications are conceptualised, designed, and finalized.
- Work with program teams to translate technical and complex information into accessible communication for varied audiences.
4. Website and Digital Presence
- Conceptualize and improve organization’s website to make it more user friendly, intuitive, and engaging.
- Work closely with in-house designers and manage vendors to guide website structure, layout, navigation, and content presentation.
- Ensure timely updating of program information, resources, and publications on digital platforms.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Preferably post-graduation in Communications or related fields
- 7-10 years of experience in communication, content strategy and digital marketing
- Photography experience and basic skills in video editing and production
- Proven experience in English and Hindi(desirable) editing and writing
- Familiarity with social media, and content creation in the development sector.
- Ability to work with Canva, Illustrations, Photoshop and other digital tools. (video editing skillset will be an added advantage)
- Ability to focus on a variety of tasks within a deadline-driven environment.
- Creative and confident pitching communication ideas and strategies
- Passion for social impact and storytelling.
- A team player who can multitask in a dynamic environment.
