Job Description:
World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office for India has supported the NTEP since inception of the program, working closely with the government and its partners at both the national and state levels. WHO India provides policy inputs and technical assistance to MoHFW for TB elimination activities.
In over two decades since its inception, the WHO-TB TSN for NTEP has sought to strengthen TB program activities through technical support in planning, capacity building, training, evidence generation, surveillance, monitoring and evaluation.
On behalf of WHO India and Central TB Division MoHFW, IPE Global Ltd. is seeking applications for the post of Medical Consultants at Field Level. Medical Consultant GOI WHO TB TSN will be contracted through IPE Global Ltd. and will work under the overall guidance of WHO Representative to India (WR-I) under direct supervision of Team Lead TB. S/he will be following the framework of national policies and WHO technical guidelines. S/he is expected to work in close collaboration with State Officials and the Central TB Division.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to CTD in routinely analyzing the programme data and to provide timely feedback for programme improvement.
- Coordinate with State and district TB staff and CTD/WHO counterparts. Coordinate and liaise with TB TSN consultants, teams at District, State, and Centre in close collaboration with supervisors of TB TSN.
- Support microplanning and implementation of all components of TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan along with other End- TB Strategies.
- Mentor field staff on TB screening, diagnosis, treatment adherence, and contact tracing.
- Support access to TB diagnostics, treatment, prevention, and comorbidity services
- Ensure quality data entry, routine data validation, and use of Nikshay and other program platforms for data management.
- Monitor service delivery, HR deployment, logistics, and community outreach activities under NTEP.
- Conduct regular field supervision and provide actionable feedback reports to district, state and field teams.
- Support private sector engagement, patient support mechanisms, and operational research having policy implications for NTEP.
- Regular report to the WHO TB TSN Supervisory level for documentation of work performance.
- Be available for inter/intra-state relocation as and when required, in the interest of NTEP priorities.
- Undertake special assignments as directed by CTD/WHO in the interest of TB Elimination in the country.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Post Graduate Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in Community Medicine/ Preventive & Social Medicine/ Pediatrics/ Medicine/ Tropical Medicine/ Community Health Administration/ Family Medicine/ Epidemiology/ Public Health/ Equivalent, from a recognized University; OR
- Post Graduate Diploma in Community Medicine/ Preventive & Social Medicine/ Pediatrics/ Medicine/ Tropical Medicine/ Community Health Administration/ Family Medicine/ Epidemiology/ Public Health/ Equivalent, from a recognized University plus two years prior experience of public health programmes/ projects; OR
- MBBS from a recognized University plus at least four years prior experience of public health programmes/ projects.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proven ability to communicate clearly;
- Ability to work effectively in a team;
- Proficiency in computer applications including Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools /Data Management;
- Excellent knowledge of spoken/written English and local language;
- Able to produce results and work in a changing environment.

- Post Graduate Diplomas must be issued by a recognized institution on the conclusion of a full-time, two-year programme, to be eligible for consideration. Part-time, online, distance, short duration Post Graduate Diplomas, issued by a non-recognized institution, shall not be eligible for consideration.
- WHO reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts/ vacancies, or cancel the recruitment, or re-advertise posts/ vacancies, without assigning any reasons therefor. Discretion will be exercised regarding the experience required with respect to Point 3 in Qualification & Experience, in view of programmatic needs in hard-to-reach geographies.
