About Project:
This project supports DAY-NRLM’s transition from large-scale SHG mobilization to strong national and global market integration. With 10.05 crore women in 90.90 lakh SHGs and 1.48 crore Lakhpati Didis (June 2025), the mission is now poised to transform these platforms into high-growth, women-led enterprises. ACCESS Development Services will establish and implement a comprehensive national marketing strategy aimed at integrating SHG enterprises into formal mainstream markets. As a first step, ACCESS will undertake a comprehensive assessment of current market efforts—examining product volumes, value realization, channel performance, product quality, and branding and packaging standards. Building on this analysis and consultations with stakeholders (Government, private sector, academia etc), ACCESS will prepare a detailed national market strategy and action plan within the initial weeks. This roadmap will guide value chain prioritization, channel optimization, and branding and packaging upgrades to accelerate revenues and position SHG enterprises for competitive advantage and sustained growth.
Position Summary:
The Lead – Marketing and Communications will serve as the chief storyteller and guardian of the identity of SHG enterprises. This role is responsible for defining a consistent brand voice and narrative across all internal and external touchpoints—from consumer packaging and digital media to corporate and government communications. The Lead must be a results-oriented professional capable of translating social engagement into tangible outcomes, using expertise in lead generation and social commerce to directly support the project’s revenue targets. You will oversee the integration of the brand's "Livelihood Story" with commercial sales strategies to position SHG products as the go-to source for ethically sourced, high-quality goods.
Responsibilities:
1. Brand Strategy & Integrated Narrative
• Define and evolve the core brand strategy, visual identity guidelines, and value proposition to authentically represent the SHG mission and ethical sourcing.
• Create a clear messaging framework for diverse stakeholders: socially conscious consumers, corporate buyers (CSR/ESG), government partners, and SHG members.
• Develop the "Livelihood Story" across all product lines, positioning the brand based on its socio-economic impact as a competitive advantage.
• Oversee the creation of compelling sales kits, proposals, presentations, and product catalogs that articulate the value proposition, including product quality, reliability, and social impact metrics
2. Multi-Channel Marketing & Social Commerce
• Support in development of national and international marketing strategies to penetrate modern retail, B2B corporate gifting, and digital B2C channels.
• Oversee the creation of content designed for direct product conversion, leveraging in-app shopping and live commerce on platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
• Lead performance marketing initiatives, including SEO/SEM, paid social, and email marketing, to drive customer acquisition and high-quality lead generation.
• Develop and curate engaging content (written, visual, and video) for all major social media platforms, including scheduling and publishing content using social media management tools. This content must be strategically designed for engagement, lead generation, and direct product/service conversion (social commerce).
3. Public Relations & Stakeholder Engagement
• Maintain relationships with national/international media and influencers in the social impact and retail spaces.
• Lead the creation of press releases, media kits, and annual Social Impact Reports to translate complex data into compelling content for partners.
• Proactively manage communication strategies to protect the brand's integrity during reputational challenges.
4. Execution & Collaboration
• Manage content calendars and pipelines for key product categories to support revenue goals.
• Work with Operations and Product Development to ensure brand consistency in packaging and marketing collateral.
• Manage the marketing and communications budget, tracking expenditure and maximizing ROI across all initiatives.
• Manage the implementation and tracking of advertising campaigns aimed at generating high-quality leads for B2B channels and direct sales for B2C social commerce efforts.
Skills and Competencies:
• Masters degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in a hands-on role involving marketing, social media, preferably in a B2C or B2G environment.
• Proven understanding of social commerce principles and experience driving product sales or revenue generation directly through social platforms (e.g., in-app shopping, live commerce).
• Demonstrated experience in implementing paid social media campaigns for lead generation and conversion.
• Proficiency with major social media and social commerce platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) and social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprinklr).
• Strong copywriting and copy editing skills, specifically for direct-response content and product descriptions, with a detail-oriented approach.
• Excellent oral and verbal communication skills for effective internal collaboration and public interaction.
• Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space.
• Basic proficiency with video and photo editing tools (or equivalent digital media formats).
Travel Requirement
Willingness to travel as required to implement the project efficiently.
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is commensurate to industry standards and will be determined based upon experience set of the candidate and the HR policies of the organization.
