About the role
We are seeking a senior associate/assistant manager – Marketing & Communications Executive with a strong interest in visual storytelling and content creation. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys designing, documenting, and shaping stories from the ground up across social media, campaigns, and events.
This role is anchored in visual content and digital communication, with exposure to other areas such as events, PR, internal and external communications.
Key responsibilities
• Create visual content (design, graphics, basic illustrations) for social media, presentations, and print/digital collaterals
• Photograph and document workshops, events, exhibitions, and performances
• Shoot and edit short-form videos and reels for digital platforms
• Work with the team to plan and execute social media content calendars in line with NalandaWay’s voice and aesthetics
• Write clear, sensitive, and engaging captions and copy
• Work closely with programme teams to understand context and translate on-ground work into stories
• Support communication needs for events, campaigns, and fundraisers
• Assist with newsletters, website updates, and internal communication
• Coordinate with external designers, photographers, or videographers when required
Requirements
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, journalism, graphic design, or visual content (Fresh graduates with strong portfolios are welcome to apply)
• Location: Chennai
• Educational background in Visual Communication, Visual Arts, Mass Communication, Journalism, Design, Fine Arts, or Media Studies
• Strong design sensibility and attention to detail
• Comfort with photography and basic video shooting/editing
• Working knowledge of design tools such as Canva, Adobe Suite, or equivalent
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
• Sensitivity to social issues and willingness to engage with communities respectfully
Experience in the social sector is a plus, but not mandatory.
