Rise Against Hunger India is part of the global Rise Against Hunger network. Driven by the vision of a world without hunger, Rise Against Hunger India undertakes programs that provide for immediate food and nutrition needs of people while preparing them to have sustainable food and nutrition security.
The mission of the organization is to nourish lives, empower communities, respond to emergencies and grow the movement towards ending hunger. In the initial days, programs were largely concentrated in urban locations where NGO partners running schools, orphanages and other programs were supported with nutritious meals packaged by thousands of corporate volunteers and others. In recent years, Rise Against Hunger India has expanded its programs to rural areas with high malnutrition and food insecurity scores in 4 States (Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand) to address underlying causes of hunger, malnutrition and food insecurity.
Functional Summary:
The Corporate Fundraising Coordinator will play a key role in mobilizing corporate resources to advance the mission of Rise Against Hunger India. The role will focus on identifying and engaging new corporate partners, strengthening relationships with existing supporters, and ensuring the strengthening of the funding base through strategic fundraising initiatives. A major emphasis will be on leveraging corporate social responsibility (CSR) partnerships, meal packaging events, and other collaborative campaign s that create both social impact and long-term donor commitment.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Acquisition
- Identify, research, and approach potential corporate partners to expand the donor base.
- Develop tailored proposals and pitches to secure corporate funding commitments.
- Drive fundraising through meal packaging programs, sponsorships, and special campaigns.
- Proactively set and achieve fundraising targets aligned with organizational goals.
Partnership Cultivation & Retention
- Strengthen and nurture relationships with existing corporate donors to maximize repeat giving and long-term commitments.
- Design customized engagement plans for each partner to grow financial support year after year.
- Co ordinate with the Volunteer Engagement team to enhance donor visibility through events and campaigns.
Stewardship & Accountability
- Ensure accurate tracking of funds, timely acknowledgements, and impact reporting for all corporate contributions.
- Follow up on pledged commitments and outstanding payments to secure timely receipts.
- Provide transparent, regular updates on the utilization and impact of funds.
Donor Experience & Engagement
- Lead initiatives to recognize and celebrate donor contributions to enhance satisfaction and retention.
- Maintain an updated corporate donor database and track engagement patterns.
- Re-engage inactive or lapsed corporate donors with targeted outreach strategies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Master’s degree in social work, Development Studies, Business Administration, or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience in fundraising, partnerships, or CSR engagement.
- Fundraising & Donor Engagement: Demonstrated experience in cultivating donor relationships, volunteer engagement, or leading cause-based initiatives.
- Communication & Presentation: Strong ability to craft persuasive proposals, appeals, and donor communication materials; skilled in delivering concise, compelling presentations to diverse audiences
- Research & Prospecting: Proven skills in identifying, researching, and qualifying potential corporate donors, funders, and supporters.
