Assignment
|
ChildFund has an active face-to-face fundraising program aimed at engaging supporters and securing sustained funding. To strengthen decision-making, program performance visibility, and strategic growth, we require a specialist consultant to enhance our reporting systems, data analytics, and business modelling capabilities supporting the fundraising team.
Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the safeguarding policy and procedures and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with ChildFund’s Safeguarding Policy.

Scope of Work
|
|
The consultant will:
- Review and improve existing reporting frameworks used by the face-to-face fundraising team.
- Establish robust analytics dashboards and tools for tracking KPIs, donor acquisition, retention, and revenue trends.
- Develop business models/scenarios to inform budgeting, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
- Build capacity of internal staff on analytical reporting and modelling best practices.
- Conduct a needs assessment and data audit of current reporting systems, data sources, and tools.
- Design and standardize monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reports that are transparent, actionable, and tailored to key stakeholders (fundraising team, leadership, board).
- Create data dashboards (e.g., in Excel, Power BI, or equivalent) for real-time tracking of performance metrics.
- Develop financial and operational models (projections, sensitivity analysis, cost-benefit scenarios) to support planning.
- Propose metrics/KPIs for monitoring donor journey, acquisition cost, ROI, retention, and campaign effectiveness.
- Provide hands-on training / documentation for staff on how to maintain and update reporting tools and models.
The consultant will deliver:
- Inception Report with work plan and methodology (within 1 week of start).
- Assessment output with gaps & recommendations.
- Standardized reporting templates and dashboards (digital versions).
- Business modelling tools and assumptions documentation.
- Final report summarizing findings, tools developed, and next-steps.
- Training session and user manual for NGO staff.
Key milestones:
- Week 1-2: Inception Report
- Week 3–5: Reporting and dashboard design
- Week 6–8: Business models & testing
- Week 9–10: Training and handover
- Week 12: Final report?

Required Skills and Abilities
|
- Advanced skills in data analytics, business modelling, and reporting.
- Proficiency with analytics tools such as Excel (advanced), Power BI/Tableau, SQL/data integration tools.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear insights and decision models.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Experience with fundraising performance data (face-to-face or donor acquisition channels preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic data management tools; familiarity with MIS systems is an added advantage. Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
