Debora Foundation India, a charitable trust working for underprivileged children and youth in the Doddaballapur region of Bangalore district, invites applications for the position of Executive Director. The Foundation envisions a world where children and youth thrive, unlocking their potential to become responsible, creative citizens who promote peace, justice and equality.
The DFI is implementing a well-designed after-school program for a large number of school-going children through Educational Activity Centres in the villages, and, for youth, establishing a state-of-the-art Vocational Education and Skill Training Center at Doddaballapur to offer job-linked, industry-aligned vocational training in core manufacturing and technical trades.
Key Responsibilities:
The Executive Director will provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Foundation’s program operations. The role encompasses program design, implementation, monitoring, financial management, infrastructure development, and representation of DFI to foreign donor foundations, civil society, and government authorities. The responsibility includes ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the organization.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Master’s degree in Education, Social Science, Business Administration or Development studies.
• Minimum 10 years of experience, of which at least 3 - 5 years in a senior leadership position of a reputed NGO.
• Experience in Financial Administration, including FCRA compliance, property and legal matters and in handling CSR-supported programs and requirements.
Key skills:
• Ability to provide visionary leadership to the organization, spearhead strategic development and content direction, and professionally manage by providing able leadership.
• Capability to drive the organization’s growth and development, ultimately making a lasting, positive impact on the lives of children and youth.
• Capacity to lead and oversee the establishment of a cutting-edge Vocational Education and Skills Training Centre.
• Having good communication skills in English and preferably in the local language (Kannada).
• Ability to build a strong, dedicated team by fostering a motivating and conducive work environment in the organization.
• Networking skills with civil societies, industries and government bodies would be an advantage.
• Knowledge and experience in collaborating with German charitable foundations on development programs would be an added advantage.
