The Role:
The Veterinary Specialist is responsible for ensuring optimal physiological health, productivity,
and welfare of poultry flocks across Eggoz’s integrated operations. The role focuses on bird
physiology, nutrition–health interplay, stress management, disease prevention, and
productivity optimization, ensuring consistent egg quality, yield, and food safety standards
aligned with Eggoz’s brand promise
Key Responsibilities
• Track Flock Health & Physiology Management by monitoring and optimizing physiological
parameters affecting egg production (lay rate, shell quality, egg mass, feed efficiency).
• Diagnose and manage physiological stressors (heat stress, density stress, transport stress,
molting impact).
• Interpret flock performance data and correlate with nutrition, environment, and
management practices.
• Design and implement preventive health programs (vaccination schedules, deworming,
supplementation).
• Collaborate with biosecurity teams to strengthen disease surveillance, early detection, and
containment protocols.
• Support investigations into morbidity/mortality trends with a physiology-first diagnostic
lens.
• Work closely with nutritionists and other stakeholders to optimize feed formulations based
on physiological stage (grower, layer, peak lay).
• Assess impact of micro-nutrients, electrolytes, probiotics, and supplements on bird
physiology and productivity.
• Recommend feed and water interventions during seasonal and stress conditions.
• Drive improvements in egg size uniformity, shell strength, yolk quality, and internal egg
parameters.
• Analyze deviations in egg quality and trace them back to physiological, nutritional, or
environmental causes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance hen-day production and lifecycle
yield.
• Provide on-ground technical guidance to farm managers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Develop SOPs, training modules, and quick-reference guides on physiology-led flock
management.
• Act as a subject-matter expert during audits, expansions, and new farm onboarding.
• Maintain accurate records on flock health, treatments, supplements, and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with FSSAI norms, animal welfare standards, and internal quality
benchmarks.
• Generate periodic reports linking physiological indicators to business KPIs (yield, losses,
quality).

Person Requirements
• Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry) with 4–8 years in commercial poultry
operations, preferably in layer farms. A Master’s degree in Physiology / Poultry Science /
Animal Nutrition would be preferred
• Exposure to integrated poultry or dairy sector is highly desirable
• Strong grounding in avian physiology and stress biology
• Practical understanding of layer productivity metrics and egg quality parameters
• Data interpretation and root-cause analysis capability
• Field-oriented, hands-on problem solver
• Strong communication skills with farm and cross-functional teams
• High ownership mindset aligned with food-quality and animal-welfare standards
