Centre for microFinance (CmF) (http://www.cmfraj.org/), is a not for profit organization set up jointly by a group of development practitioners and academicians in conjunction with the Tata Trusts, Rajasthan state government departments and NABARD in the year 2007. Through its education programs, CmF is making concerted efforts to create enabling physical environment and contextualized pedagogical processes in government schools and Anganwadis so that children enjoy the process of learning and develop strong foundational learning skills. CmF has been implementing various education interventions in identified districts which are focused on building strong foundation of emergent and early literacy and numeracy competencies in students and strengthening the teaching learning practices in elementary grades I-VIII. CmF is working with and extending technical support to the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Rajasthan Council of School Education (RCScE), Samagra Shiksha (SMSA), Rajasthan State Council of Education Research and Training (RSCERT), Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad (RGAVP) for strengthening the education and nutrition specific interventions in the state.
CmF is deepening its education work in select districts, with the aim to demonstrate scalable models on the ground and leveraging evidence and expertise to catalyse the systemic adoption of these successful practices for long-term, sustainable change. The current project ‘Demonstrating Functional School Library Model at Scale in Rajasthan’ aims to strengthen and scale functional school libraries across the state by supporting model libraries, school libraries, teacher capacity building and community engagement initiatives to promote reading culture and foundational literacy among children.
CmF is looking for dynamic, dedicated and skilled professionals to bring change in the quality of life of poor through educational interventions with significant and sustainable changes in functioning of Anganwadis and Schools and learning status among children.
We are inviting applications for the following positions/roles:
Position: Technical Expert - Library
Positions: Multiple | Locations: Multiple districts across Rajasthan
Salary: It would be competitive with market considering relevant experience, current and past CTC & professional qualifications.
Job Description: The Technical Expert – Library will be responsible for technical support for the implementation of the school library initiative across designated districts in alignment with the project objectives.
- Provide technical support for designing implementation strategies for the school library interventions in assigned zones/districts.
- Work closely with and support the project team to ensure smooth implementation of project activities and to strengthen liaison with Government officials and associated School staff.
- Ensure quality implementation in the demonstration sites (model libraries) – conduct regular monitoring visits, provide mentoring support to Teachers and Field Team and periodic meetings with the district/block education officials.
- Coordinate with Rajasthan State Council of Educational Research and Training (RSCERT), Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SMSA) and District Institute for Education and Training (DIETs) for implementation of library training across the selected districts.
- Facilitate training programs for teachers, headteachers, PEEOs and resource group members on library practices and integration with classroom learning.
- Support the development of technical resources, toolkits and training materials related to library strengthening and reading promotion.
- Assist the state team in policy engagement, research, documentation and dissemination of project learnings.
- Facilitate community awareness activities to ensure active engagement and promote library and reading activities and community participation.
- Support and ensure timely submission of MIS and reports on key outreach, outcome and impact indicators to meet reporting requirements. Provide field-level support for assessments and surveys to gather & analyse data from the assigned district.
- Identify the design and quality related issues, discuss them with the Reporting Officer, and propose field-level solutions.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as per project demands. Assist CmF team and ensure convergence of CmF’s other education components.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master/Post-Graduate or higher degree in relevant subject and M.Ed./ B.Ed./ D.El.Ed or equivalent qualification in education.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in education program implementation with a reputed organization. Experience in library or language development will be preferred.
- Prior experience of working with the government departments (DIET, Education/SMSA).
- Experience in negotiating, coordinating with government and communities for the project activities.
The candidate should also have
- Good interpersonal and analytical skills & a team player.
- Strong written and oral communication skills (Hindi and English).
- Ability to travel regularly to project sites in remote locations.
- Computer skills – preparation of reports, spread sheets, power point presentation, e-communication etc.
