Communications Intern

Job Title: Internship - Extension Communication

Scope: Create meaningful digital engagement through engaging impact stories and utilize agro-input dealer shops to engage farmers

Place of work: India

Position Summary:

Enhance East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation (EWS-KT) presence in India through meaningful digital and non-digital engagement. Create impact stories that help smallholder vegetable farmers in their vegetable production journey. Ideate and design communication materials to enhance EWS-KT presence across all available digital channels. Engage with farmer and agro-input dealers to understand, design and implement extension materials. Support the implementation of communication strategies to effectively reach smallholder farmers. Manage social media channels and perform data analysis for optimizing outreach efforts.

Responsibilities:

Engage with smallholder vegetable farmers, agro-input dealers and other relevant stakeholders to create media content.
Create impact stories that can engage with smallholder vegetable farmers.
Maintain EWS-KT’s digital identity.
Create content to educate smallholder vegetable farmers,
Participate in online and offline farming groups and forums to drive conversations.
Train EWS-KT extension members on value added training skills to create content.
Utilize data metrics to understand and optimize content strategy
Coordinate with external media agencies, including digital agencies, TV, newspapers, and influencers.
Prepare monthly reports and data analysis on communication performance.

Qualifications:

Currently pursuing or recently completed a B.Sc. in Communications, Agriculture, Marketing, Business, Media, or related field.
Interest or intermittent understanding of social media marketing.
Data-driven mindset with a willingness to learn and improve based on results.
Intermittent understanding of social media platforms and chat applications
Experience in creating documentary video and good photo skills
Fluency in written and spoken English and local language.
Willingness to travel to project locations
