In 1982, Dr. Dwarkadasji Lohiya laid the foundation of Marathwada Navnirman
Lokayat (MANAVLOK), a voluntary organisation, working for the socioeconomic
upliftment of the rural poor in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra State in India.
The organisation is working in the sectors of Watershed, Agriculture, Disaster Relief
Services, Gender Equality, Elder and Disabled care, as an approach to integrated rural
development.

We are seeking a dedicated accountant to manage the financial records and
accounting processes of the Soil and Water Resource Management Program in
Buldhana District, Maharashtra, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance
with organizational and statutory requirements. The role involves maintaining books
of accounts in Tally, processing financial transactions, and preparing financial reports,
including fund utilization statements for donors. The Accountant will monitor project
expenditures against budgets and maintain proper financial documentation for
audits and reporting. The position requires close coordination with program teams to
ensure timely submission and verification of financial documents from field
locations. The Accountant will also support compliance with statutory regulations
such as TDS, PF, and other financial obligations. This role is critical in ensuring strong
Financial management and accountability within the program.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
? Maintain accurate books of accounts in Tally as per organizational accounting
policies.
? Record daily financial transactions, including vouchers, bills, receipts, and
payments.
? Ensure proper classification of expenses according to project budget heads.

2. Financial Documentation & Record Management
? Maintain proper documentation of invoices, bills, vouchers, and supporting
documents.
? Ensure systematic filing (both physical and digital) of all financial records.
? Verify bills and supporting documents submitted by field teams.

3. Fund Utilization & Reporting
? Prepare Fund Utilization Certificates (UCs) and financial reports for donors.
? Track budget utilization and monitor expenditures against project budgets.
? Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for
management and donors.

4. Compliance & Statutory Requirements
? Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including TDS, PF, and other
applicable taxes.
? Assist in preparing and filing statutory returns as required.
? Maintain records required for audits and statutory compliance.

5. Budget Monitoring
? Monitor project expenditures and highlight any budget deviations.
? Support program teams in understanding financial processes and
documentation requirements.

6. Coordination & Communication
? Coordinate with program teams to collect financial documents from field
locations.
? Support the accounts team during internal and external audits.
? Communicate with banks, vendors, and internal teams regarding financial
matters.

7. Banking & Payments
? Assist in processing payments to vendors, staff reimbursements, and project
expenses.
? Maintain bank records and assist in bank reconciliation statements.

Eligibility Criteria:

Education & Experience:
? B.Com with 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting OR M.Com with 2–3
years of relevant experience in NGOs.
? Minimum 2 years of working experience in Tally.
? Experience in preparing Fund Utilization Reports / Utilization Certificates.
? Strong working knowledge of Advanced Excel.
? Familiarity with Gmail, Outlook, and digital documentation systems.
? Mandatory proficiency in English and Marathi (speaking, writing, and typing).
? Knowledge of taxation and statutory compliance, including TDS and PF.
? Preference will be given to candidates with experience in NGOs, development
sector organizations, or donor-funded projects.

? High attention to detail and accuracy in financial records.
? Strong analytical and numerical skills.
? Ability to manage multiple project budgets and reporting timelines.
? Proficiency in advanced Excel functions for financial tracking and reporting.
? Good communication and coordination skills with program and field teams.
? Ability to maintain organized financial records for audit readiness.

Compensation & Benefits:
? Salary: The position offers a consolidated salary of ?30,000 per month, with an
annual increment of approximately 5% based on performance and
organizational policies.

Ambajogai.
? Travel Allowance: Travel allowance for official visits to Buldhana (project
location) will be provided as per organizational policy.
