Position: Block Coordinator Cum NRM Expert
Location: Block- Mandro District- Sahebganj, Jharkhand with travel to BRLF geographies of operation.

Reports To: Team Leader, SPMU-JH-BRLF
Nature of Employment: Full-time contract with benefits.
1. ORGANISATION BACKGROUND:
Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (www.brlf.in) is an autonomous body established in 2013 under the Ministry of Rural Development through a Union Cabinet decision by the Government of India. With a vision to transform the lives and livelihoods of the most vulnerable populations across India, BRLF plays a crucial role in fostering and facilitating civil society action in partnership with the government and people’s institutions. Its mandate encompasses a range of objectives, including bridging the gap between program outlays and outcomes, improving implementation of government flagship programs, providing grant support to civil society organisations (CSOs), and promoting partnerships for inclusive, sustainable development. BRLF has a pan-India mandate and focuses on tribal geographies, particularly those in the Central Indian tribal belt and Northeast India. The focus has been on the states with the most concentration of tribal population which are Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Mizoram.
To achieve its objectives, BRLF follows a networked approach for nurturing the appropriate institutional and programmatic ecosystem for enhanced interventions in sustainable livelihoods for tribal rural communities. The collaborative model actively engages various key stakeholders, including the government, private philanthropies, public and private sectors under corporate social responsibility (CSR), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Community- based Institutions (CBOs and PRIs). The unique collaborative model facilitated by BRLF successfully harnesses the collective strengths of these institutions to design and scale rural development initiatives effectively.

Role Description:
The Block Coordinator cum NRM (Natural Resource Management) Expert will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring natural resource management interventions at the block level. The role demands a balance between technical expertise in NRM and coordination skills to work with local communities, government bodies, and other stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement NRM-related projects in alignment with BRLF’s objectives and local requirements.
- Conduct participatory planning with local communities to identify and address key NRM challenges.
- Prepare detailed project implementation plans and ensure their timely execution.
- Conduct training programs for community members, SHGs (Self-Help Groups), and other stakeholders on sustainable NRM practices.
- Build capacities of Gram Panchayat members and other grassroots functionaries on participatory natural resource planning and implementation.
- Act as a liaison between BRLF, government departments, and the local community for effective project implementation.
- Collaborate with block-level authorities to leverage government schemes like MGNREGA and PMKSY for NRM projects.
- Track progress of NRM interventions using established monitoring frameworks.
- Prepare and submit timely reports detailing progress, achievements, and challenges.
- Promote awareness on sustainable agriculture, water conservation, and climate- resilient practices.
- Introduce innovative techniques for soil and water conservation, watershed management, and afforestation.
- Promote sustainable livelihood opportunities linked to NRM, such as agroforestry, fisheries, and eco-tourism.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Science, Rural Development, or a related field. Master’s degree will be preferrable.
- Additional certifications in NRM or GIS-based planning will be an advantage.
Key Skills s Competencies:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in NRM, rural development or similar roles.
- Prior experience working with rural communities and government stakeholders is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of NRM principles, watershed management, and climate- resilient agriculture.
- Frequent travel to remote areas within the block is required.
COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The remuneration package is budgeted for a range of INR 40,000-45,000 per month. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and salary history.
LOCATION: Block-Mandro District Sahebganj, Jharkhand with travel to BRLF geographies of operation.

Languages
Good command of speaking, reading, and writing in English and Hindi is required.
