About the Role
Quest Alliance has been working in the secondary schools for the past few years. In 2020, we rolled out a program to build 21st century skills and STEM mindsets among adolescent girls (grade 8th to 12th) from government schools. One of the key areas of QUEST’s work is around building computational thinking among adolescents and youths. Specifically in Andhra Pradesh, we are working with the State Education Department on developing and institutionalizing AI curriculum and are building a master trainer led teacher support strategy. We are looking for an experienced person who has worked in the area of education technology, curriculum development and educator capacity building with a focus on government school systems.
The role of the Senior Officer - Learning Experience is going to be critical in supporting the development of AI curriculum in the state and support capacity building of internal team for them to be able to support the teachers. Having understanding of educational technology thought processes especially on Computational Thinking and Career is necessary.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Curriculum Development and Learning Experience Design
- Contribute to the development and contextualization of the AI and Computational Thinking curriculum for secondary school learners in collaboration with the Learning Experience Team.
- Support the design of a coherent multi-year learning journey that integrates AI, computational thinking, and career awareness for students.
- Ensure that curriculum and learning resources are contextually relevant for government school ecosystems and aligned with state education priorities.
- Capture feedback from teachers, classrooms, and program teams to inform iterative improvements in curriculum and learning design.
Educator Capacity Building and Master Trainer Support
- Support design and facilitate capacity-building sessions for teachers and master trainers across districts.
- Support development of training plans, facilitation guides, and learning materials to support teacher adoption of computational thinking and AI curriculum.
- Strengthen the master trainer–led cascade model to ensure effective training and continuous support for teachers.
- Support the internal program team in building their capacity to mentor teachers and sustain classroom implementation.
- Enable teacher and student participation in innovation forums and learning platforms
Program Implementation and Quality Assurance
- Support high-quality implementation of the AI and computational thinking program in collaboration with state and district program teams.
- Conduct school visits and field monitoring to assess program implementation and capture insights from teachers and students.
- Maintain regular coordination with program teams to ensure alignment with program objectives and timelines.
- Coordinate operational requirements such as event logistics, service requests, and training arrangements when required.
Collaboration and Organizational Contribution
- Collaborate with the central EdTech and learning experience teams to align state implementation with the broader program vision.
- Participate in planning meetings, program reviews, and team learning processes.
- Contribute to organizational learning by sharing insights from field implementation and supporting improvements in program design.
Required Skills and Experience
- 4–5 years of relevant professional experience working in school education programs within government school systems, particularly in program implementation, curriculum design, or educator capacity building.
- Demonstrated experience working on STEM education, coding, or computational thinking initiatives with adolescents.
- Experience in designing and facilitating teacher capacity-building programs, including training and mentoring educators.
- Experience working with State Education Departments, SCERTs, district education officials, or other education system stakeholders.
- Experience in implementing EdTech-enabled learning solutions at scale will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with pedagogy for adolescent learners and learner-centered teaching approaches is an advantage
- Exposure to themes such as life skills, career awareness, gender inclusion, or youth development will be an added advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in English and Telugu (written and spoken) is preferred.
- Willingness to travel extensively across districts in Andhra Pradesh to support program implementation and stakeholder engagement
Salary: The pay band for the position starts at Rs. 47,000/- per month (cost to company) (The salary offered will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the candidate)
