ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The education portfolio focuses on improving access to quality school education and strengthening learning outcomes for children from underserved and migration-affected communities. It supports teacher capacity building, community engagement, and strengthened school systems to address barriers to school participation and ensure continuity of learning. The portfolio also integrates technology-enabled learning tools, digital content, and STEM-based approaches to enhance classroom teaching and student engagement. Since 2004, these initiatives have reached over 1.35 million children across 5,238 villages in 17 States and Union Territories in India.
PURPOSE OF CONSULTANCY
We are seeking a consultant who will ensure smooth functioning of the Early Childhood & Elementary Education portfolio under the LAMP Flagship program through maintaining program quality, and providing strategic guidance aligned with NEP 2020. The role is designed to safeguard continuity, strengthen systems, and support in building strong foundations for children's learning journeys, ensuring inclusion, accessibility, and impactful outcomes.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Program Development & Curriculum Alignment: Provide technical oversight to ensure programs remain aligned with NEP 2020 and NCF/SCF guidelines; support curriculum refinement and pedagogy, including CPA methodology.
- Digital & Infrastructure Support: Oversee digital learning platforms and school infrastructure; advise on integrating technology into teaching-learning processes.
- Inclusion & UDL: Guide teams on Universal Design for Learning principles; recommend strategies for differentiated instruction and assistive technologies.
- Educator Support: Conduct capacity-building workshops for teachers and front line workers on classroom management, collaborative learning, and critical thinking.
- Governance & Partnerships: Liaise with government agencies, school leadership, and partners to sustain program momentum; support donor engagement through evidence-based inputs.
- Monitoring & Evidence Use: Ensure continuity of assessment systems; review data and provide actionable recommendations; document learnings and prepare technical notes for program strengthening.
DELIVERABLES
- Quality assurance of ECCE, FLN, and STEM modules to ensure alignment with NEP 2020 and program standards.
- Leadership in capacity-building sessions for educators and program teams, focusing on classroom management, collaborative learning, and critical thinking.
- Review of assessment tools and reports to strengthen monitoring systems and evidence-based decision-making.
- Technical notes on curriculum alignment, UDL integration, and digital learning practices.
- Drafting and review of proposals to support donor engagement and program expansion.
- Support in the development of project plans to ensure operational clarity and timely delivery.
- Final report with recommendations for strengthening the Early Childhood & Elementary Education portfolio. Provide project management, technical and operational leadership for school education initiatives under the Digital Equalizer program, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and implementation across partner locations.
- Support proposal development, concept notes, and technical inputs for donor engagement and program expansion, along with development of knowledge management products such as briefs, case studies, and program documentation.
- Conduct periodic monitoring visits to project locations and support capacity building of frontline program staff, educators, and implementation partners to strengthen technology integration in classrooms.
Travel and Work Expectations
- The role will require regular travel to project locations for monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and capacity-building activities, estimated at 5–7 days per month depending on program needs. The consultant is expected to maintain regular in-person presence at the Delhi office to ensure close coordination with the program team and leadership.
REQUIRED KEY SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in early childhood education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 to 12 years of experience in developing and implementing high-quality education programs for school education
- Demonstrated expertise in school education including FLN, child development, inclusive education, and Universal Design for Learning principles.
- Proven experience in curriculum development and alignment with national frameworks, including NEP 2020.
- Experience in integrating technology into learning environments and managing digital platforms.
- Understanding of educational governance and experience working with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and Hindi is required. Additional regional language proficiency is a plus.
