NMP+ is a community-based Organisation formed in 2001, by people living with HIV (PLHIV) to improve the quality of life of infected and affected people with HIV. NMP+ works in entire Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa and Kerala through CBO and NGO partners to achieve organizations vision and mission. NMP+ is affiliated with National Coalition of People Living With HIV in India (NCPI+) a national level federation of PLHIV CBO’s.

Project Description
NMP+ has been selected as a SR for the Global Fund project named ‘SAMAGRA’. This program is being implemented with a key objective to improve the survival and quality of life of PLHIV by establishing 41 Care & Support Centers (CSCs) in Maharashtra state and providing technical support for Mumbai and Goa SACS supported CSCs to improve treatment outcomes and meet the needs of PLHIV, including those who are members of high-risk groups, women and children.
Job Summary :
The project Coordinator (Tele Counselling) will be responsible for providing counselling, guidance, and psychosocial support to beneficiaries through telephonic communication. The role involves handling inbound and outbound calls, offering accurate information, emotional support, follow-up services, and maintaining confidentiality while ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
Specific Responsibilities :
• Provide telephonic counselling and emotional support to beneficiaries in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Handle incoming and outgoing calls as per program requirements.
• Provide accurate information regarding health services, schemes, referrals, and support services.
• Maintain proper call records, case notes, and documentation in prescribed formats.
• Ensure strict confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information.
• Identify high-risk cases and escalate them to supervisors or concerned authorities when required.
• Conduct follow-up calls for treatment adherence, appointment reminders, or service linkage.
• Support crisis intervention and provide immediate guidance during distress situations.
• Coordinate with field staff, counsellors, and program team for case management.
• Submit daily/weekly/monthly reports as per project requirements.
Required Qualifications :
• Graduate in Psychology / Social Work / Sociology or related field.
• Diploma or certification in counselling (preferred).
• Minimum 1 year experience in counselling, helpline services, or health programs (preferred).
Required Skills & Competencies :
• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• Empathy and non-judgmental attitude.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, MS Word, data entry).
• Ability to manage stress and handle crisis situations calmly.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Fluency in local language (Marathi/Hindi/English as applicable).
