Job Description: Placement Coordinator Cum Regional Incharge, Igniting Youth Futures- Learning to Earning (IYF-L2E) Project  

Position: Placement Coordinator Cum Regional Incharge

Location: Kerala 1 position and Delhi NCR 1 position (with travel across partner YMCAs in the region)

Reports to: India Coordinator – IYF, YMCA India

Duration: 1 year (renewable based on performance and project funding)

Employment Type: Full-time (contractual)

Project Overview

YMCA India, under the IYF-L2E project aims to empower all youth, particularly historically underserved young people aged 18-35 in Delhi NCR and Kerala, focusing on skill development, job readiness, and sustainable employment. It intends to mobilise 10000 youth entering the 'L2E' learning-to-earning process with the mindsets and required awareness to pursue Meaningful Work. The project leverages YMCA’s national and global networks to promote scalable and inclusive livelihood models aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Key Responsibilities

Regional Coordination & Leadership

• Coordinate the implementation of the IYF–L2E Project across partner YMCAs and project sites in Kerala.
• Ensure regional alignment with the national strategy and IYF framework.
• Support the India Coordinator in planning, reporting, and ensuring quality project delivery.
• Build and strengthen relationships with local governments, training institutes, employers, and civil society partners. 

       Programme Management & Implementation

• Prepare and execute regional work plans and activity calendars in line with the project results framework.
• Ensure smooth operation of training programs on life skills, employability, and vocational skills.
• Oversee trainers and ensure timely delivery of modules and sessions.
• Manage logistics, budgets, and documentation related to training centers and field activities. 

       Youth Mobilization & Engagement

• Lead youth outreach and enrolment efforts across the region.
• Ensure inclusion of young women, differently-abled youth, and marginalized groups.
• Collect feedback from participants and communities to improve program delivery. 

        Training & Capacity Building

• Facilitate and monitor delivery of training programs on life skills, career readiness, green jobs, and entrepreneurship.
• Support capacity building of local YMCA trainers and volunteers.
• Maintain quality standards and ensure contextual adaptation of the curriculum. 

       Partnerships & Employment Linkages

• Build partnerships with local employers, MSMEs, and industry networks.
• Facilitate job placements, internships, and entrepreneurship support for trained youth.
• Organize regional job fairs, exposure visits, and networking events with employers. 

       Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Collect and maintain accurate data on youth enrolment, training completion, placements, and outcomes.
• Support regional reporting in coordination with the national MEL system.
• Contribute to success stories, case studies, and regional progress reports. 

       Communication & Representation

• Represent the YMCA and the IYF Project at regional events and forums.
• Promote visibility of the program through local media, YMCA platforms, and stakeholder networks.
• Document and share best practices and innovations emerging from the region. 

       Safeguarding, Inclusion & Administration

• Ensure adherence to YMCA India’s safeguarding policies and inclusion standards.
• Manage administrative functions related to project finance, logistics, and staff coordination.
• Maintain transparent records and contribute to audits and compliance checks. 

      Qualifications & Experience

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Youth Work, Education, or related fields.
• Fluency in English and Malayalam for Kerala and Hindi & English for Delhi NCR (spoken and written).
• Experience in youth development, skilling, or livelihood programs.
• Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in multi-site or NGO project environments.
• Familiarity with Kerala’s local skilling ecosystem, government schemes, and private sector networks.

       Remuneration
