About the Position:
The Junior Statistician role is an entry-level position designed for early-career professionals interested in applying statistical methods in public health, clinical research, or social sciences. The role involves supporting data management, conducting basic statistical analyses, and assisting in research activities such as study design and grant preparation. The candidate will work with tools like R or STATA, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure data quality and accuracy. It also offers strong learning and mentorship opportunities, providing a pathway to grow into a mid-level statistician role.
The Junior Statistician will support senior statisticians and research teams in the design, analysis, and interpretation of quantitative data. This role is ideal for early-career professionals with strong analytical skills and an interest in applying statistical methods to public health, clinical research, or social science projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Data Management & Cleaning:
o Assist in organizing, cleaning, and validating datasets from multiple sources.
o Ensure data quality and integrity through routine checks and documentation.
• Statistical Analysis:
o Perform descriptive and inferential analyses under supervision.
o Apply standard statistical techniques .
o Generate tables, charts, and summary statistics for reports and publications.
• Research Support:
o Contribute to protocol development, including sample size calculations and study design.
o Support preparation of statistical sections in grant applications and manuscripts.
• Software & Tools:
o Use statistical software (R, STATA) for data analysis.
o Maintain reproducible code and adhere to project documentation standards.
• Collaboration:
o Work closely with epidemiologists, clinicians, and data managers.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, or Biostatistics.
• Strong foundation in probability, statistical inference, and regression methods.
• Familiarity with statistical software (R, or STATA).
• Good communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
