Position Summary
SwitchON Foundation is seeking a dynamic and passionate Soft Skills Trainer to lead sessions under the Youth Skill Development Social Program. The trainer will be responsible for building communication, personality development, and life skills among youth, preparing them for employment and livelihood opportunities. The role demands strong facilitation, motivation, and mentoring skills to engage and inspire participants from diverse backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Facilitation
- Conduct engaging sessions on communication skills, teamwork, time management, grooming, and workplace etiquette.
- Deliver interactive and activity-based training modules designed for youth skill development.
- Customize content and delivery to suit the needs and learning levels of participants.
Curriculum & Content Management
- Support in developing and updating training content and session plans.
- Maintain session-wise documentation, attendance, and feedback reports.
- Ensure continuous improvement of the training methodology and outcomes.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Track and report participant progress and performance.
- Support post-training assessments to measure behavioral and skill changes.
- Share success stories and feedback with the program team regularly.
Community Engagement & Coordination
- Coordinate with local stakeholders and project teams for smooth program delivery.
- Encourage participation and retention of youth in training programs.
- Represent SwitchON Foundation’s values and mission at community and program events.
Capacity Building & Mentorship
- Mentor youth to boost their confidence and employability.
- Identify individual learning needs and provide one-on-one support when required.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Proven experience in conducting soft skills or life skills training, especially with youth or community-based programs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and motivational abilities.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Education, Psychology, Social Work, or Humanities preferred).
- Certified trainer or diploma in soft skills / training & development will be an added advantage.
Language:
- Proficiency in Bengali and Hindi (Basic English desirable).
Other Requirements:
- Must be open to staying at the provided hostel accommodation (no fooding allowance).
- Willingness to travel locally as per program needs.
- Passion for youth empowerment and skill development.
Compensation
Monthly Salary: Rs 25,000 – Rs 27,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
Reimbursements: Travel and other official expenses as per organizational policy.
Reporting To
Senior Program Manager
Travel Requirements
Frequent local travel across assigned project locations (Bankura, Nadia, Maynaguri).
