BACKGROUND
The Hans Foundation, established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works for the improvement of quality of life for underprivileged communities across India through Health, Education, Livelihood and Disability sector interventions. THF undertakes direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing funding support to not-for-profit organisations in India through its donor – RIST, USA. THF’s Strategic planning focuses on key areas of its work with the aim of addressing the key issues of poverty alleviation, economic inequalities, and 360° impact on the quality of life through social development programs. THF’s programs are majorly implemented in the most rural and under-developed areas in the country. Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through the direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organizations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.
GENERAL

Reporting to: Head – Education and Capacity Building
1. JOB PURPOSE
The position requires a professional with experience in career counselling, student guidance, scholarship coordination, content development, and stakeholder management. Knowledge of pedagogy and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) will be an added advantage.
2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Career Counselling Support
- Provide technical assistance to education teams on career counselling interventions across project locations.
- Support the planning and implementation of career counselling sessions for students.
- Conduct and assess psychometric tests for students and support interpretation of results.
- Coordinate with trained career counsellors and provide technical guidance for effective counselling delivery.
- Support students in identifying suitable academic and career pathways based on aptitude and interests.
Content Development & Technical Coordination
- Coordinate with technical agencies for development of career counselling content, tools, and session modules.
- Review and provide inputs for finalization of counselling content and student engagement materials.
- Support the design and thematic development of career guidance resources, presentations, and communication materials.
- Ensure contextual relevance and quality of counselling and scholarship-related materials.
Training and workshop
- Lead and coordinate the scholarship component under the Hans Vriksh Education Project.
- Support scholarship planning, documentation, student coordination, and tracking processes.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders for smooth implementation of scholarship activities.
- Maintain records, reports, and documentation related to scholarship support and student progress.
Student Engagement & Communication
- Take the lead in developing and managing the Hans Vriksh student newsletter and other student communication initiatives.
- Develop engaging and informative content for students related to career opportunities, scholarships, higher education, and skill development.
- Support dissemination of career and scholarship information across project schools and regions.
Agency & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate and manage technical agencies engaged for career counselling and related interventions.
- Track deliverables, timelines, and quality of services provided by technical partners.
- Coordinate with project teams, schools, counsellors, and other stakeholders for effective implementation of activities.
Qualification & Experience
- Master’s degree in psychology, Education, Social Work, Counselling, Human Development, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in career counselling, education projects, scholarship management, or student development initiatives.
- Experience in conducting or supporting psychometric assessments and student counselling is preferred.
- Prior experience in the development sector/NGO environment will be an advantage.
3. Other Indicative Requirements
- Strong understanding of career counselling and student guidance processes.
- Knowledge of psychometric testing and interpretation.
- Understanding of pedagogy and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) concepts and approaches.
- Good content development and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and documentation/reporting tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
