WILD Trust is a small grassroots organization based in rural Bihar, working toward a vision of communities that respect, protect, and regenerate nature.
We work on sustainable farming, healthy food systems, environmental education, youth leadership, and community-led ecological restoration. Our journey started from witnessing environmental degradation, unhealthy lifestyles, disappearing traditional knowledge, and growing disconnection between people and nature in rural communities.
Over the last few years, WILD has worked across 50+ villages with farmers, women, children, and youth through:
* promotion of indigenous and uncultivated foods
* ecological and natural farming practices
* millet revival and seed conservation
* rural green livelihood opportunities
* environmental education and eco-clubs in schools
* youth fellowship and leadership programs
* analog forestry and biodiversity-based farming models
* community awareness workshops and exhibitions
Some of our work includes:
* distributing millet seeds to nearly 1000 farmers
* supporting farmers to restart millet cultivation after decades
* organizing environmental and food awareness sessions across villages and schools
* creating 30+ millet-based value-added products
* presenting millet-based products at the G20 spouse meet in Delhi
* engaging children and youth through storytelling, eco-clubs, and hands-on environmental learning
But for us, this is just the beginning.
Going forward, WILD aims to:
* strengthen rural ecological livelihood models
* build more analog forestry and regenerative farming systems
* develop strong youth climate leadership programs
* create village-level eco-learning spaces and eco-clubs
* revive local food systems and biodiversity
* support community-owned green enterprises
* build a stronger grassroots movement around sustainable living and ecological regeneration
We are now looking for a Co-founder -- someone who wants to build this journey together, not just work in an organization.
We are looking for someone who:
* deeply cares about environmental and social issues
* has tried to contribute in some meaningful way through volunteering, grassroots work, fellowships, campaigns, or independent initiatives
* is willing to work closely with rural communities and field realities
* can take ownership, initiative, and leadership
* believes in long-term impact over short-term comfort
* is open to learning, experimentation, and uncertainty
You do not need expertise in everything. We value sincerity, commitment, learning attitude, leadership potential, and alignment with the mission more than polished resumes or degrees.
Any experience or interest in areas like fundraising, program design, networking, communication, HR, youth engagement, facilitation, documentation, or field coordination would be valuable.
This role is for someone who sees this not just as a job, but as an opportunity to co-create something meaningful for the long term.
?? Current Support/Stipend: ?15,000/month initially
(Currently this amount needs to cover food, lodging, and travel expenses as well. As the organization grows, we hope to grow together in responsibility, sustainability, and financial capacity.)
