Role Purpose
The Project Coordinator shall be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing skill development and livelihood promotion programmes of JSS Simdega, with a primary focus on beneficiary mobilization, establishment of rural training centres, recruitment of resource persons, and stakeholder engagement at the Gram Panchayat and community levels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Beneficiary Mobilization and Community Outreach
• Lead beneficiary mobilization activities across rural and urban areas of Simdega district.
• Conduct awareness campaigns, village meetings, counselling sessions, and community outreach programmes to promote JSS training opportunities.
• Coordinate with Gram Panchayats, Ward Members, community leaders, and local institutions for identification and enrolment of eligible candidates.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective trainees to ensure achievement of annual training targets.
• Facilitate special mobilization drives for women, youth, school dropouts, marginalized communities, and self-help group members.
2. Training Centre Identification and Establishment
• Identify suitable locations for setting up training centres in rural areas and Gram Panchayats based on local skill demand and training needs.
• Conduct training needs assessments and market surveys to identify relevant trades and livelihood opportunities.
• Coordinate with local institutions for provision of training venues and infrastructure.
• Ensure that training centres comply with JSS guidelines and operational requirements.
3. Recruitment and Management of Resource Persons
• Identify, recruit, and onboard qualified Resource Persons/Trainers for various trades and vocational courses.
• Maintain a database of trainers and technical experts across different sectors.
• Coordinate trainer deployment, induction, orientation, and performance monitoring.
• Ensure availability of competent trainers for all approved training programmes.
4. Stakeholder Coordination
• Establish and maintain regular coordination with:
• Gram Panchayats and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs)
• Government Departments and Line Agencies
• Schools, Colleges, ITIs, Polytechnics, and other Academic Institutions
• Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
• Village Organizations (VOs)
• Cluster Level Federations (CLFs)
• Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)
• Churches and Faith-Based Organizations
• Training Centres and Industry Partners
• Build partnerships for candidate mobilization, training delivery, placement, and livelihood promotion.
5. Project Implementation and Monitoring
• Prepare monthly and quarterly action plans for training and mobilization activities.
• Monitor training programmes and ensure timely achievement of targets.
• Conduct regular field visits to training centres and project locations.
• Maintain records of trainees, trainers, training centres, and project activities.
6. Documentation and Reporting
• Prepare progress reports, mobilization reports, meeting proceedings, and project documentation.
• Maintain MIS data and ensure timely submission of reports to the Director, JSS Simdega.
• Document success stories, best practices, and impact outcomes.
7. Other Responsibilities
• Organize workshops, exposure visits, skill fairs, and community events.
• Support placement, self-employment, and post-training follow-up activities.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Director, JSS Simdega.
Qualification
• Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
• Preference for candidates with qualifications in Social Work, Rural Development, Management, Education, or related fields.
Experience
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in skill development, livelihood promotion, community mobilization, rural development, or social sector programmes.
• Experience in working with SHGs, Panchayati Raj Institutions, and government-sponsored skill development programmes will be preferred.
Skills Required
• Strong community mobilization and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience in conducting village-level outreach and awareness campaigns.
• Ability to recruit and manage trainers and field teams.
• Good report writing, documentation, and MIS management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Willingness to travel extensively within Simdega district.
Reporting
• The Project Coordinator shall report directly to the Director, JSS Simdega, and shall be responsible for achieving mobilization, training, and programme implementation targets assigned by the organization.
