Contract duration: 41 months (3 years five months)

The organisation is currently working directly with nearly a million of people across six different program operation locations besides a central management and coordination office at Kolkata. As a part of its aspirations and growth, Sabuj Sangha is launching a four year long integrated initiative in the Mainpat Block of Surguja district in Chhattisgarh.
About the Position/s:
Sabuj Sangha is launching a project on sustainable socio-economic development of distressed non-arrived tribal communities in the hills & forest-based areas of Mainpat block under Surguja district of Chhattisgarh through integrated livelihood, natural resource management, education and health interventions. The Cluster Coordinators (2) will be responsible for developing village resource maps, identification of locations/ spots for installation of solar lights, construction of check dams, solar -lift irrigation, group-based farm ponds. setting up eco-tourism centres, home-stays etc. in consultation with the village development committees and local self-government representatives. The positions will interface with community-based organisations, schools, ICDS workers and block level government officials for planning and implementation of project activities as planned to be undertaken under different verticals; will play instrumental role in forming Village Development Committees, farmers cooperatives etc.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Planning and Mapping:
a. Identify ICDS Centres, School Buildings for renovation and refurbishment, setting up Smart Anganwadis and Digital Classrooms
b. Identify spots/ locations for setting up Street Solar Lights at strategic points in underserved village areas to ensure reliable night-time illumination.
c. Identify spots for installation of solar-powered irrigation systems to bring dry lands under cultivation, enable multiple cropping, and enhance incomes of farmers through efficient water use and community-managed systems.
d. Identify locations for construction of small check dams on perennial nallas to ensure year-round water retention, enabling irrigation in unirrigated lands.
e. Form groups and identify ponds for construction of community ponds for rainwater harvesting to store around 36,000 m³ water, enhance irrigation coverage, and support sustainable livelihoods through improved water availability and community-led management.
f. Identify land and farmers for Horticulture Plantation wastelands through scientific plantation and intercropping, enabling 50 farmers to generate sustainable income by the third year,
g. Establish Tool Banks in the villages with agricultural equipment for shared use by farmers to improve farm operations and reduce input costs.
h. Promote protected cultivation through poly houses for quality seedling production and off-season vegetable farming.
i. Support for beekeeping activities through bee boxes, equipment, and training to enhance livelihoods and crop pollination.
j. Support NRM Expert in establishment of honey processing facilities for extraction, filtration, packaging, branding, and market linkage of honey products.
k. Train and hand-hold villagers for entrepreneurship development, financial literacy, eco-tourism, and enterprise development for community institutions.
B. Internal Coordination and Communication:
a. Design and develop IEC materials in consultation with the VDCs, PRI and block level officials for undertaking village level awareness generation campaigns.
b. Provide technical assistance, capacity building and training support to HRDP Project staff on participatory processes.
c. Entry data in the Programme Management Information System (MIS), Project Dash Board and share with the MIS & Documentation Officer for reflection in project outputs and accomplishments.
Essential Qualification and Experience:
Education and work experience: Bachelor/ Master’s degree in Social Work, Social Science, Rural Development with experience of working in rural development projects.
Skills and Competencies (work related):
• Experience in program implementation.
• Experience of working on Rural Livelihoods, NRM
• Experience in conducting village level participatory meetings and action researches
Technical:
• Hands-on on computer/ packages
• Very good interviewing skills and ability to probe
Behavioural:
• Very good interpersonal communication and presentation skills
• Clear understanding on Govt. policies and programmes on social protection
• Ability to navigate in multi-stakeholder platforms
Compensations: Rs. 35,000/- per month
