SAHAY is a charitable society working in Kolkata since 1989. We believe that investing in children and youth and empowering them to be agents of change in their communities, is the single best answer to breaking generational poverty. We are currently working with 3769 children from vulnerable communities in Narkeldanga area, providing them with sessions on essential life skills and extracurricular activities such as sports and bookclub, to ensure their holistic development. Through this initiative, we aim to equip children with the mindset, skills and tools to become confident young adults who can achieve their dreams.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Deliverables:
Execute effectively the plans for the implementation of the youth 19+strategy.
- Provide support to Intervention 3 as needed, working closely with the Field Operations Coordinator and Assistant Field Operations Coordinator.
- Identify and select eligible youth participants according to established criteria for Intervention 2.
- Support in identifying Training Partners who will give the training to the youths.
- Monitor the progress and quality of learning delivered by Session Facilitators on the curriculum.
- Planning and lesson preparation with the session facilitators.
- Community Awareness about the 19+ program.
- Home Visit of the 19+ youths.
- Support participants in identifying and overcoming barriers to successfully completing core training and workforce insertion.
- Champion promoting youth participation in the community and the organization by identifying spaces for community engagement, volunteering, co-facilitation, or youth-led projects.
- Create spaces for inspiration and storytelling, enabling youth to share their experiences, achievements, and lessons learned with peers, fostering collective growth.
- Actively support continuous improvement initiatives and adapt quickly to change within a complex, ever-changing work environment.
- Enable seamless information flow, break down silos, and effectively collaborate across stakeholders within community, maximizing collective impact for our children, youth, and families.
- Maintain consistency, reliability, timeliness, and quality of all gathered information to ensure data integrity. Regularly update and document progress and comply with timely submission of data and other reporting requirements. Providers to ensure participants’ effective integration into the labour market.

Place of ASSIGNMENT: Kolkata
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation, Post-Graduation preferred with at least three (3) years of relevant experience ideally targeting youth development interventions.
- Experience in managing Training Partner (TP) relationships and program implementation, preferably in the Youth Work Force Development sector in Kolkata.
- Demonstrated understanding of India’s education and Work Force Development sector, including key stakeholders such as Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), and Sector Skill Councils (SSC).
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders and build effective relationships with TPs, and other Work Force Development actors.
- Tech Savy with good computer skills and experience in different learning and communication platforms and MS Office application.
- Learning mentality characterized by listening, humility, and openness/courage to change.
- Fluency in English and one other local languages (Hindi and Bangla) with strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
