Role Overview
Sesame Workshop India Trust is hiring for the role of State Programme Manager. The State Programme Manager will provide overall leadership and oversight for programme implementation across the state. The role will be responsible for planning, coordination, stakeholder engagement, team management, monitoring, and reporting to ensure effective delivery of programme objectives and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities :
Programme Leadership & Implementation :
• Lead overall programme implementation across assigned geographies in accordance with approved plans, budgets, and timelines.
• Develop annual, quarterly, and monthly implementation plans and ensure effective execution.
• Monitor programme progress, identify risks and bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions as required.
• Ensure quality, consistency, and timely delivery of programme activities across all districts.
Team Management & Capacity Building :
• Lead and supervise district-level teams and programme state.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and performance support to team members.
• Conduct regular review meetings and ensure alignment across field teams.
• Identify capacity-building needs and support state development initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships :
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, local authorities, educational institutions, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Represent the organisation at state and district-level meetings, consultations, and review forums.
• Facilitate partnerships and collaborations that support programme objectives.
• Ensure effective stakeholder communication and engagement throughout programme implementation.
Planning, Monitoring & Reporting
• Oversee programme monitoring systems and ensure timely collection and review of implementation data.
• Review district-level reports, workplans, and performance indicators.
• Ensure timely submission of programme reports, updates, presentations, and documentation.
• Support learning, knowledge management, and documentation of best practices and case studies.
Financial & Operational Oversight
• Monitor programme budgets and resource utilization in coordination with finance and operations teams.
• Support planning, procurement, logistics, and administrative requirements for programme implementation.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, financial procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Review programme expenditures and support efficient use of resources.
Quality Assurance & Risk Management
• Conduct regular field visits to assess implementation quality and provide strategic guidance.
• Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies, organisational standards, and programme protocols.
• Identify operational, programmatic, and reputational risks and support mitigation measures.
• Promote continuous improvement and learning across programme teams.
Qualifications :
Essential :
• Master's degree in Social Sciences, Rural Development, Public Health, Education, Development Studies, Management, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.
Experience :
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in programme management, implementation, or development sector leadership roles.
• Experience managing large-scale, multi-location programmes and field teams.
• Experience working with government stakeholders and community-based institutions.
• Experience in planning, monitoring, reporting, and team management.
