Nageshwara Charitable Trust (NCT), Centre for Women and Rural Development is a not-for-profit organization, registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act-1950 in 1999. Since its inception, NCT has embarked on a set of key initiatives focusing on capacity building, knowledge building, and citizen-centric development for improving socio-economic status of deprived rural, women and tribal communities in under-developed regions of Central India (Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh). NCT’s mission is to reach out to such communities by nurturing and handholding for promotion of sustainable livelihood opportunities. NCT works nationally on a number of themes/issues such as generation of self-employment, women empowerment, tribal development, natural resource management, environment protection; promotion of agriculture-based rural livelihood, watershed development, health & sanitation, etc.

Key responsibilities:-
  • Spearhead fundraising efforts and scout impactful CSR projects aligned with organizational values.
  • Support in implementation and monitoring projects being implemented by the trust in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh.
  • Assist & work closely with trustees to achieve the desired outcomes of the projects.
  • Handle carbon-credit initiatives of the Trust.
  • Monitoring of FPO project being implemented by the Trust in above States and support the district and block level project team for marketing of FPO produce/agriculture produce. 
  • Attend the monthly BOD meeting of FPO/community organisations and prepare business plan and its execution. 
  • Fix the monthly business targets of FPO/community organisations and ensure its accomplishment every month.
  • Establish market linkages of FPO/community organisations with different buyers.
  • Organize buyer-seller meeting for marketing linkages and better market price realization of FPO produce.
  • Establish credit linkages of FPO.
  • Conduct regular review staff meetings of different projects and support/ guide project team for better implementation of project. 
  • Attend district/state level review and monitoring meetings by govt. department/funding agencies.
  • Conduct regular field visit for support and smooth implementation of projects.
  • Facilitate field visits / monitoring visits of funding agencies.
  • Documentation and timely reporting of project progress/ performance.
  • Convergence with line department’s programmes and other agencies.
Required Qualifications and Experiences:
  • M.sc Agri. / MBA in Agri-Business Management/Agri-Marketing/Rural Development
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English is required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the areas of community development/FPO projects/Agri-business.
  • Proven skills in sales & marketing, management, commodity market, agricultural trading.
  • Experience in liaising/networking with Government and other development organizations.
  • Demonstrable ability to work with deadlines and manage a varied workload.
  • Willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment in collaboration with farmers.
  • Documentation & computer skills.
  • Communication & negotiation skills.
  • Fluency in Marathi, Hindi and English.
  • Ability to work on long term basis with organization.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
Other terms and conditions:
  • Initial appointment on a contract for 3 years; extendable for longer period on the basis of performance reviews.
  • Honorarium: Negotiable based on experience and qualification + cell allowances as per organization’s policy.
