Background:
Founded in 2009, Centre for Equity and Inclusion (CEQUIN) works in the states of North India, to create gender equitable communities, with a rights-based and sports for development approach. Our main thematic areas of working are ending violence against women and girls, leadership, health and wellbeing, economic empowerment and education. To accomplish our goal, beyond girls and women, we also work with other stakeholders such as men and boys, local communities, educational institutions, civil society organisations, local representatives, funders, think tanks, government, media and the private sector, to unleash transformational change.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Post Graduate/ Graduate in Social Work/ Social Science and/or other relevant fields from a reputed institution
• Minimum 5-6 years of relevant work experience in the development sector/ community-based organisation
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills in Hindi, English and Haryanvi
• Strong digital competency (office software packages, data management, statistical software, AI, etc)
• Strong grasp over relevant gender and developmental concepts
• Behavioural skills which will be assets - problem solving, cultural sensitivity, adaptable, proactive/self-driven, team player, demonstrating ethics and integrity, time management, multi-tasking
• Experience working with NGOs, CSOs, government departments, or CSR/donor-funded projects will be preferred.
Remuneration: Rss 45,000/- per month. (depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, previous salary history and demonstrated capacities)
Job Description – Programme Coordinator:
The Programme Coordinator will be responsible for overall coordination & implementation of project activities in Panipat, Haryana, including planning, implementation, capacity building, administrative management, compliance and monitoring & evaluation in line with the donor requirement. The role requires strong leadership in gender-transformative programming, close collaboration with field teams, stakeholders, community and internal departments to ensure effective, compliant, and timely delivery of project outcomes.
• Coordination & Partnership Management
• Coordinate closely with the Programme Management Unit (PMU) of H&M, CEQUIN Head Office (particularly Programme Managers and Admin team), and partner organisations.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with concerned Government departments, schools, local institutions, community leaders, Worker Welfare Groups/committee, Posh Committees, and other stakeholders.
• Represent CEQUIN in Meetings called by PMU, district-level meetings, coordination forums, and stakeholder consultations.
Programme Management & Implementation
• Lead the day-to-day planning, implementation, coordination, and field monitoring of all project components under the guidance of the Head Office Programme Team.
• Ensure the timely and quality implementation of activities across the Gender Resource Centre (GRC), and project communities.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement monthly, quarterly, and annual project activities in line with approved annual-work-plans, project timelines, and deliverables.
• Monitor programme quality, identify implementation gaps and challenges, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and effective delivery of project outcomes.
• Review previous project reports, implementation records, and programme documentation to ensure continuity, monitor progress, and incorporate key learnings into ongoing planning and implementation.
Capacity Building
• Team’s Training of Trainers (ToTs), workshops, and capacity-building initiatives.
• Mentor field staff and partner teams on gender-transformative programming, safeguarding, and community engagement approaches.
• Ensure quality implementation of project curricula, training modules, and community interventions.
Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting
• Monitor programme progress against approved work plans, indicators, and project milestones.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and donor reports as guided by APMs and ensure high-quality programme documentation.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, evidence, success stories, and project records as guided by APMs and Thematic Leads.
• Ensure timely and accurate data entry into MIS /UPSHOT (digital reporting systems).
• Participate in regular weekly and monthly online or in-person review and coordination meetings with the Head Office Programme Team to discuss progress, challenges, planning, and programme implementation.
• Ensure proper documentation for audits, donor reviews, and internal assessments
HR, Financial & Administrative Coordination
• Track project expenditures and maintain expense records in coordination with the Finance team
• Support timely processing of payments, reimbursements, and advances
• Ensure adherence to organisational financial policies and donor guidelines
• Maintain administrative records, asset registers, and procurement documentation
• Coordinate logistics for trainings, meetings, and field activities
• Ensure proper documentation for audits, donor reviews, and internal assessments
• Support recruitment coordination, onboarding processes, consultant documentation, and HR-related compliance as required
• Ensure proper filing and maintenance of staff, consultant, and project-related records
• Ensure adherence to organisational safeguarding, child protection, gender equity, and inclusion policies during all project activities
Other Responsibilities
• Undertake any other duties assigned by the supervisor or management team in support of programme implementation and organisational priorities.
Reporting: You will be supervised by and will report directly to the Assistant Programme Manager and Management Team
Employment Status: Contractual, full time
Location: As a full-time engagement, this role is based at Panipat, Haryana with frequent local visits to the field sites to review and monitor programmes within Panipat district and nearby project locations, and out of state travel as and when required.
