About Vayo Alambana Project:
The Vayo Alambana Project, supported by Ashraya Hastha Trust (AHT), aims to enhance the quality of life, safety, health, governance, and sustainability of Senior Citizen Homes through capacity building, healthcare interventions, infrastructure improvements, active ageing initiatives, and community engagement. The project will be implemented across five Senior Citizen Homes in Bengaluru and Kolar, benefiting over 270 elderly residents and strengthening institutional capacities for long-term sustainability.
Job Description:
We are looking for a committed, compassionate and dynamic professional to join our team as Program Manager for Vayo Alambana project aimed at strengthening the senior citizen homes based at Kasturinagar, Bengaluru with regular travel to project sites in and around Bengaluru and Kolar.
The Program Manager will lead the end-to-end implementation of the Vayo Alambana Project and ensure timely achievement of project goals, outputs, outcomes, and reporting requirements. The role requires strong program management, stakeholder engagement, monitoring and evaluation, healthcare and eldercare coordination, training management, and resource mobilization skills.
The Program Manager will work closely with the Associate Director, Senior Citizen Home management teams, trainers, project staff, donors, government stakeholders, and partners to ensure successful implementation and sustainability of project interventions.
The position demands a professional with strong operational capabilities, people management skills, empathy towards older persons and the ability to build systems and processes aligned with the vision and values of Nightingales Medical Trust.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Planning and Implementation
• Lead overall implementation of the project across all partner Senior Citizen Homes.
• Ensure timely execution of all project activities as per approved work plans.
• Monitor project milestones, deliverables, outcomes, and impact indicators.
• Identify implementation challenges and develop appropriate corrective measures.
Partnership and Stakeholder Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with partner Senior Citizen Homes.
• Facilitate onboarding of institutions through MoUs and partnership agreements.
• Coordinate with government departments, healthcare providers, training institutions, and community stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the donor, project partners, and implementing teams.
Quality of Care Initiatives
• Coordinate health profiling and regular medical consultations for elderly residents.
• Facilitate specialist consultations, telehealth services, referrals, and follow-up mechanisms.
• Support implementation of geriatric care and dementia care interventions.
• Monitor standards across participating institutions.
Capacity Building and Training
• Plan and coordinate training programmes for caregivers, second-line staff, and management workshops
• Facilitate governance, compliance, eldercare, dementia care, and active ageing training initiatives.
• Coordinate training and placement-linked geriatric care training programmes for unemployed youth.
• Ensure quality delivery and evaluation of training outcomes.
Infrastructure and Safety Improvements
• Coordinate assessment, planning, and implementation of elder-friendly infrastructure improvements.
• Monitor utilization of funds and quality of infrastructure enhancement works.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and accessibility requirements.
Governance, Compliance and Sustainability
• Support Senior Citizen Homes in strengthening governance systems and statutory compliance.
• Facilitate development of policies, SOPs, documentation systems, and quality standards.
• Guide institutions on sustainability planning, donor engagement, and resource mobilization strategies.
• Organize management workshops and sustainability planning sessions.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
• Establish project monitoring systems and performance dashboards.
• Track project indicators and beneficiary outcomes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, case studies, success stories, and impact reports.
• Support donor reporting, audits, evaluations, and field visits.
Team Management
• Supervise project staff engaged in project implementation.
• Conduct regular review meetings and performance assessments.
• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to project personnel.
• Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work culture.
Qualifications and Experience
• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW), Public Health, Healthcare Management, Rural Development, Development Studies, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in program management within the social development, healthcare, ageing, disability, or community development sectors.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-stakeholder projects and donor-funded programmes.
• Strong project planning, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting skills.
• Excellent relationship management abilities.
• Ability to travel 50-60% of time to project sites in and around Bengaluru and Kolar
• Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Kannada.
• Strong engagement and coordination skills, able to collaborate well internally and with external teams
