Program Specialist - Stakeholder Relations

Position Summary
The Program Specialist – Stakeholder Relations will lead stakeholder engagement and partnership-building efforts to strengthen JRCT's community development initiatives across Kangra and Chamba districts. The role involves building and maintaining effective relationships with government departments, Panchayati Raj Institutions, community-based organizations, civil society groups, and other key stakeholders. The Program Specialist will facilitate collaboration, represent JRCT in external forums, support policy engagement, and contribute to documentation and public outreach. The position requires strong communication, coordination, and networking skills, along with a commitment to gender equality, community participation, and inclusive development. Extensive travel within the project areas is an integral part of the role.

Key Responsibilities
• Build and strengthen relationships with government departments, Panchayati Raj Institutions, community leaders, NGOs, federations, cooperatives, and other key stakeholders.
• Identify, map, and engage stakeholders to strengthen program implementation and collaboration.
• Coordinate meetings, consultations, and stakeholder engagement events.
• Liaise with government officials and institutional partners to facilitate program implementation.
• Track relevant government policies, schemes, and initiatives, and share updates with the team.
• Represent JRCT in meetings, consultations, and networking forums.
• Strengthen partnerships with community-based organizations and civil society groups.
• Ensure meaningful participation of community members, especially women and marginalized groups, in program planning and decision-making.
• Support public relations by developing outreach content, documenting program achievements, and contributing to social media and media communications.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
• Master's degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Development Studies, Sociology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, community mobilisation, government liaison, or partnership development.
• Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of government systems, rural governance, and development programs.
• Excellent writing and documentation skills in English and Hindi.
• Ability to travel extensively within Kangra and Chamba districts.
• Proficiency in MS Office and digital communication tools.
