About the Project
Aide et Action (India) is implementing the Migration Education Project in Maner Block of Patna, Bihar, to support migrant children and their families living at brick kilns. The project focuses on providing children with safe spaces, education, nutrition, healthcare, recreation and support for enrolment and reintegration into schools and Anganwadi Centres. The programme will establish and operate CCLCs across 41 brick kilns and strengthen linkages with families, schools, Anganwadi Centres and government services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement weekly and monthly field plans for effective implementation of project activities across assigned brick kilns.
- Coordinate regularly with brick-kiln owners, parents and community members to ensure a supportive environment for children and smooth implementation of project activities.
- Conduct and support family-level surveys to identify migrant families and children aged 0–14 years and maintain updated child and family information.
- Regularly visit CCLCs to monitor their functioning, children's attendance and activities, and provide day-to-day support to Centre Facilitators.
- Conduct regular review meetings with Centre Facilitators to assess progress, identify challenges and plan follow-up actions.
- Conduct regular home visits and parent meetings to motivate families to ensure regular attendance of children at CCLCs and schools.
- Regularly visit government schools and coordinate with Head Teachers, teachers, Anganwadi Centres, PHCs, ANMs and ASHA workers to support children's enrolment, attendance, retention, immunisation and healthcare services.
- Support the enrolment and reintegration of migrant children into schools and Anganwadi Centres at destination and source locations, including follow-up during the non-migration period through field visits and telephone calls.
- Engage migrant families and children through planned community-based and project-led activities, including street plays, sports, cultural activities, Bal Mela and other awareness activities.
- Maintain required field records and prepare monthly progress reports, visit reports and other documentation within the prescribed timelines.
- Carry out any other responsibilities assigned by the Project Coordinator or Regional Office for achieving the objectives of the project.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Rural Development, Development Studies, Education, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant field experience in the development/social sector, preferably in education, child development, migration or community-based programmes.
- Experience in working with children, migrant families and communities will be preferred.
- Experience in field surveys, community mobilisation, CCLC/learning centre management or coordination with government schools and Anganwadi Centres will be an advantage.
- Candidates with strong field experience and relevant skills may also be considered.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Rs.20,000 per month, based on experience.
