About- The YP Foundation:

The YP Foundation (The YP Foundation) is a youth-run and youth-led organization that enables young people to create programmes and influence policies in the areas of gender, sexuality, health, education, the arts and governance. The organization promotes, protects and advances young people’s human rights by increasing their access to information and services, building feminist leadership, and strengthening youth-led initiatives and movements.

Founded in 2002, The YP Foundation has since worked directly with 8,500 young people to set up multiple projects in India, reaching out to 750,000 children, adolescents and young people between 9-35 years of age. During this time period, the organization has developed expertise in 6 areas i.e. AYSRHR (Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights), Life Skills, Masculinities, Gender Based violence and Feminist Leadership.

Over the years, The YP Foundation has expanded horizons in reimagining social structures, dismantling normative beliefs and challenging stereotypical behaviors. The YP Foundation strives to deeply and consistently invest in developing young people’s feminist leadership, amplify their voice and agency to challenge the status quo, and create platforms for them to represent themselves so that they will directly influence policy making.

About Butterfly Project: The Butterfly Project aims to position adolescents and youth as leaders driving change and fostering leadership within their communities across Delhi and Jharkhand. The programme envisions empowering young people to overcome barriers that limit their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Implementation
1. Implement programmatic activities and lead on-ground work in collaboration with partners, community members, and community leaders
2. Organize workshops, meetings, consultations, and community events in alignment with programme needs and timelines
3. Design and facilitate training sessions with young people (community leaders and interns) and programme partners
4. Develop work plans and schedule activities in accordance with programmatic specifications and guidelines
5. Ensure conflicts or community-raised issues are addressed through appropriate channels, in line with protocol

Documentation and Resource Management

1. Document programmatic tasks and activities, and compile due diligence reports
2. Design and disseminate IEC materials and publications across project sites through info desks, campaigns, and training sessions
3. Maintain organized digital drives and documentation systems for the programme
4. Oversee programme inventory management, including IEC materials, training modules, and other resources

Financial Management: Manage end-to-end financial closing of expenditures for workshops, meetings, consultations, and community events

Communication and Visibility

1. Ensure timely communication of impact stories and programme highlights from the field for external dissemination
2. Represent the organization and programme at external platforms, showcasing impact and participating in collaborative forums, training, and events

Organisational Development and Growth

1. Contribute to systems strengthening and support implementation of institutional processes
2. Actively participate in organizational processes, including staff meetings and organization development workshops
3. Track personal learning progress and reflect on growth areas throughout the programme cycle

Eligibility Criteria:

- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Humanities, or related fields (Master's degree preferred but not mandatory) and between the age of 20-25 preferably.
- 0-2 years of experience in the development sector, community-based work, or youth programmes (freshers with strong volunteer/internship experience are encouraged to apply)
- Prior experience working with adolescents, youth, or grassroots communities is an advantage
- Willingness to travel extensively for field-based work, including to Delhi and Jharkhand
- Proficiency in Hindi and English (spoken and written); knowledge of regional languages relevant to Jharkhand is a plus

Ability to develop work plans, monitor progress, and set monthly targets
Basic financial management skills
Comfort with designing and developing IEC materials (through Canva or any other software one might be comfortable with)
Interpersonal & Field-Readiness:
Comfort with extensive travelling and field-based work
Ability to build rapport and work closely with young people and community members
Interest in capacity building and facilitating trainings with youth
Ability to handle conflict or sensitive issues with maturity and discretion

Values & Mindset:
Genuine interest in human rights, gender, and youth-centered issues
Proactive attitude with a strong sense of initiative
Ability to follow through on guidelines, instructions, and protocols
Openness to learning, feedback, and self-reflection
Collaborative mindset with willingness to actively engage in organizational processes

Desirable (Not Mandatory):

Prior experience with IEC material design or basic graphic/content tools (Canva, MS Publisher, etc.)
Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks
Exposure to feminist and rights-based approaches to development work
