Créche Supervisor

No of Post – 01

Job location- Deferent Villages of Dhar block (Madhya Pradesh).

The Créche Supervisor will provide constant guidance and support to the Crèche Caregiver in executing duties. Each Créche Supervisor will be responsible for 10 créches.

a) Eligibility criteria for Créche Supervisor
i) Must be in the age group 25-45 years.
ii) Must be at least a graduate with basic computer skills.
iii) Must have working knowledge of accounts and bookkeeping.
iv) Must be willing to serve the community with work experience in community-based programmes, preferably in the sector of health and nutrition.
v) Must have good communication skills, especially in Hindi and local dialects of the tribes.

*b) Roles and responsibilities *
Initial set-up
i) Organising community meetings for establishing créche in the village. The details of the community ownership and consent form is given in Annexure-13.
ii) To identify suitable location for housing the crèche.
iii) To capture the line listing of the children in the village during the initial phase.
iv) To do the profiling of the child at the time of entry to the créche. It is to be maintained in the Child Card.
v) To capture anthropometric details of these children during initial community meeting in Child Card.

Anthropometric measurement and growth chart
i) To conduct anthropometric measurements as per protocol. The details of the guidelines for growth monitoring and promotion in a créche is given in Annexure-14.
ii) To maintain community growth status in each créche.

Tracking and maintenance of records
i) To enter the monthly attendance from the Créche Caregivers’ register.
ii) To track the status of egg and THR (individual child-wise tracking not required).
iii) To verify and update the cash book.
iv) To maintain details of Créche Committee monthly.
v) To regularly track issues relating to training and infrastructure.
vi) To capture details on the event of children being referred.
vii) To capture details of the exit of a child from a créche.
viii)To identify, track and follow up all red flag and referred children.
ix) To follow up and track children who have undergone treatment.
x) To capture details of immunisation from Mother and Child Protection (MCP) Card
xi) To enter details of the Créche Committee meeting from the Créche Caregivers’ register
xii) To ensure tracking of wasted children.

Supportive supervision and home visits
i) To use monitoring form for supervising créches and capture the latitude/ longitude along with pictures for each visit.
ii) To provide continuous support and guidance to the Crèche Caregiver to bridge the gap between training and job requirements.
iii) To visit each centre at least twice in a month.
iv) To guide the Créche Caregiver in transacting the ECD and other crècherelated activities
v) To have home visit of SAM and severely underweight children, and children who are frequently falling ill.

Quality check of anthropometry and calibration of instruments
i) To have periodic quality check of anthropometry as per the format given in créche monitoring checklist.
ii) To ensure quarterly calibration of anthropometric instruments. The details of the anthropometric equipment calibration form is given in Annexure-15.

*Support for logistics *
i) To provide funds to the Créche Caregivers for purchase of eggs, fruits, vegetables, and Firewood.
ii) To prepare monthly requisition of ration based on the monthly stock verification of data of Créche Caregivers.
iii) To ensure supply and storage of ration, medicines, early childhood education materials, registers, and records.

Maintenance of records
i) To maintain diary and record information of all the children in the crèche with some additional information on the undernourished, severely undernourished, sick,nd referred.
ii) To fill the MIS formats, monthly reports.
iii) To maintain requisition and receipt of each créche.

Monthly review meetings
i) Conduct monthly review meetings with crèche caregiver or at the block level. Coordination with key stakeholders
i) i)To build good relations with the panchayats/village heads, Mahila Mandals, parents, schools, clubs, and other organisations.
ii) To attend block-level reviews and sector meetings to coordinate with the block/ district-level functionaries of the WCD&MS and H&FW departments.
iii) To support and facilitate VHSND sessions and RBSK camps in crèche villages.
iv) To coordinate with health and ICDS for access to THR, routine immunisation, IFA, Vitamin-A, Albendazole and support for referral.
v) The details of enabling access to entitlement for enrolled créches is given in Annexure- 16

*Capacity building *
i) Attend trainings and exposure visits.
ii) Participate and support in the capacity building of Créche Caregivers
Safety, grievance redressal and compliance
i) To ensure that all crèche regulations are complied with, and discipline and decorum is maintained in all crèches.
ii) To ensure that the safety and security protocols are being followed and take adequate steps to address any shortcomings.
iii) To be the first contact for grievance redressal.
iv) To address existing gaps, if possible, or report the same to the Crèche Coordinator for action from higher level.

Monthly withdrawn salary not less than Rs. 25,000 per month and ready to join within 15 days after final selection.
