Position Description
The Block Academic Coordinator (BAC) will support and monitor schools in the assigned block to ensure effective implementation of all FLN-related academic activities. Reporting to the District Program manager and operating from the block level, the BAC will play a key role in ensuring highquality delivery of FLN interventions across schools.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Implementation & Monitoring
- Ensure effective implementation of FLN project activities across assigned blocks and schools.
- Consistently deliver project outputs while meeting all established timelines.
- Conduct regular school visits to observe classroom practices, assess teacher support needs, and provide on-site academic guidance.
Liaison & Collaboration
- Coordinate with block- and district-level government officials for planning and implementing FLN activities.
- Work closely with Academic Resource Persons (ARPs), mentor them in classroom observations, and support them in giving constructive feedback to teachers.
- Collaborate with Block Education Officers (BEOs) to ensure smooth program implementation.
Capacity Building
- Support ARPs and Sankul Shikshaks in conducting structured Shikshak Sankul meetings as per guidelines.
- Participate in at least 10 Sankul meetings annually to ensure quality facilitation.
- Assist District Academic Coordinators and the District Manager in delivering capacitybuilding workshops for ARPs, SRGs, Sankul Shikshaks and district officials.
Documentation & Reporting
- BACs consistently follow data-driven reporting practices, including timely submission of monitoring reports, school visit updates, documentation of observations, and accurate data entry into program tracking systems.
- Continuously document program processes and identify strong models of language learning and classroom practices.
- Regularly engage with block- and district-level data to understand trends and co-plan course corrections in collaboration with ARPs, SRGs, DIET faculty and Shikshak Sankuls.
- Submit monthly reports to the Block Education Department and District Program Manager as per targets.
- Document best practices, case studies, and success stories for sharing with state teams, partners, and government.
- Ensure timely data collection aligned with M&E requirements and track student performance as per grade-level learning outcomes.
Other Responsibilities
- Take up additional tasks assigned by the line manager based on project needs.
Educational Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Qualifications
- Post Graduation (preferably in Social Sciences or Education).
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in education projects, especially involving teacher capacity building and curriculum support.
- Skills & Abilities
- Deep knowledge and understanding of FLN and education policies.
- Strong understanding of training design and effective facilitation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with government officials and stakeholders.
- Strong documentation and reporting abilities.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and basic MS Office tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
