Job Description
Senior Manager – Resource Mobilization & Donor Management
About Us
Digital Green India is a social impact organization helping farmers harness technology and data to build resilient and prosperous communities. Founded in 2008 out of Microsoft Research Lab, it began with a video-based approach that transformed how agricultural advisory reached rural communities. Over the years, the organization has partnered with governments, the private sector, and civil society to scale digital tools and AI-driven platforms across India. To date, Digital Green, in India, has reached 6.5 million smallholder farmers (50% women), trained more than 100,000 frontline workers (52% women), and supported hundreds of farmer groups in producing and sharing localized videos in 26 languages. Building on 18 years of experience, it is now advancing a farmer-responsive, AI-enabled model of extension. In 2024, Digital Green launched FarmerChat, an open-source, AI-powered solution designed to strengthen public systems and deliver climate-smart, hyperlocal guidance in farmers’ own languages. In India, the tool has reached close to 1 million users (45% women), who have asked millions of queries.
By continuously innovating and expanding digital solutions, we remain committed to driving meaningful change. Our team is passionate about transformative change, fostering resilience, and making a tangible impact. Joining Digital Green India means joining a team of forward-thinking leaders in technology-driven development and social impact in India. If you’re a visionary who shares our values and seeks to drive impactful partnerships for the greater good, we invite you to join our mission.www.digitalgreentrust.org
About the Role
Senior Manager – Resource Mobilization & Donor Partnerships plays a central role in advancing the organization's fundraising strategy by developing high-quality funding opportunities and nurturing donor relationships. The role works closely with the Head of Resource Mobilization, CEO, technical teams, finance, and program teams to translate organizational priorities into compelling concepts, proposals, and donor engagement strategies.
The role is responsible for managing the end-to-end development of funding proposals, coordinating donor requirements throughout the fundraising lifecycle, and ensuring continuity in relationships with existing donors. The position contributes to fundraising strategy through research, donor engagement support, and cross-functional coordination while ensuring that donor expectations are translated into strong, implementable project designs.
Why Join Digital Green
- Work at the intersection of AI and social impact — helping take FarmerChat, an AI-powered advisory, to the last mile, where it reaches hundreds of thousands of farmers and extension workers in their own languages, by voice, text and image.
- Be part of a genuinely farmer-first organization, where technology is designed around the realities of low-literacy, low-connectivity rural India, and success is measured by what reaches and works for the farmer.
- Direct exposure to work alongside the senior leadership team on the organization's most strategic priorities.
- Opportunity to gain a 360° view of building and scaling programmes through partnerships.
- Be associated with a fast-growing, mission-driven organization with high ownership and low bureaucracy.
- Be part of a culture that values initiative, learning, and impact.
Key Responsibilities
1. Proposal & Concept Development
- Lead the development of high-quality concept notes, proposals, presentations, and funding applications that align donor priorities with organizational strategy.
- Coordinate with program, technical, MEL, product, and finance teams to design interventions that are technically robust, financially viable, and operationally feasible.
- Ensure proposals clearly articulate outcomes, impact pathways, implementation approaches, and value propositions for prospective donors.
- Continuously improve proposal quality by incorporating learning from previous submissions, donor feedback, and sector trends.
2. Resource Mobilization
- Conduct donor mapping, opportunity assessment, and connect with potential donors.
- Participate in fundraising conversations with prospective partners.
- Track fundraising opportunities and support timely follow-up actions to advance partnership discussions.
3. Donor Relationship Management
- Maintain regular engagement with existing donor partners assigned to the role to ensure continuity in relationship management.
- Coordinate donor requests, respond to routine communication, and facilitate timely resolution of queries during proposal development and implementation.
- Build trusted relationships by proactively understanding donor priorities and identifying opportunities for deeper engagement.
4. Cross-functional Coordination & Project Design
- Coordinate across program, finance, product, and technical teams to gather inputs required for proposals and donor deliverables.
- Ensure budgets, implementation plans, and technical narratives remain aligned throughout proposal development.
- Support internal reviews and quality assurance processes prior to proposal submission.
5. Knowledge Management & Strategic Support
- Maintain proposal repositories, donor intelligence, and fundraising documentation.
- Capture learning from successful and unsuccessful proposals to strengthen future fundraising efforts.
- Support strategic initiatives undertaken by the Resource Mobilization team as required.
Educational Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant degree in Development Studies, Public Policy, Agriculture, Rural Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in fundraising, proposal development, partnerships, or donor management.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and manage competing deadlines.

- Experience in agriculture, livelihoods, digital development, or climate resilience is preferred.
