About Us: Door Step School Foundation (DSSF) is a non-profit organization, with operations in Maharashtra and West Bengal, dedicated to providing foundational education to migrant children who often fall between the gaps of the formal education system due to the transient nature of their family’s work and life. Established as a Section 8 company in 2018, DSSF continues the legacy of The Society for Door Step Schools, which was founded by Prof. Rajani Paranjpe in Mumbai in 1989 and expanded to Pune in 1993. Through 10 key programs, the organization benefits almost 50,000 children aged 3-16 yrs.

The Role: Manage day-to-day communications operations related to content, social media, volunteering requirements, and coordination across teams with a systems-oriented, empathetic approach rooted in our mission.

Responsibilities
• Content: Plan, write, edit, and translate (English/Marathi) content for social media, newsletters, website, articles, and reports; gather and curate field stories for different audiences ,support design/distribution of materials
• Social Media: Manage channels end-to-end, calendar, posting, engagement, basic performance tracking; monitor relevant coverage and organizational mentions
• Systems: Keep messaging consistent across channels; maintain content calendars, workflows, databases and documentation;
• Stakeholder Communication: Assist with donor/partner reports and updates; support event communications
• Volunteering Coordination: Assist with individual and corporate volunteering needs and field coordination

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent experience
• 2–4 years' experience in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field
• Understanding of public welfare and social development
• Strong English language skills (read+write+speak) and fluency in Marathi
• Hands-on social media management experience
• Organized, solutions-oriented, empathetic, independent, and committed to social work
• Knowledge of the full suite of Microsoft 365 and popular AI tools
• Basic photography/videography skills for field documentation
• Preferred: NGO experience, design tools (Canva/Adobe), CMS/email marketing tools
